As per popular demand and to show that I am serious (by posting this, I have already given up my 0 post record.

I am creating a poll in serious K/ on the topic of Salary range.

Is your current salary enough to sustain your lifestyle and have any extras for savings? What is your industry and background?
Any commitments? (House, shoplots, family, etc)

If the poll is correct, it should fall in line with the national B40/M40/T20 classification…

based on my current lifestyle + parents commitment + mortgage + insurance, give or take around RM7k in selangor/kl area. And that's very comfortable lifestyle in my book with over 20% of it put in food (i love food).

anything more than that can be put in saving.

1. What is the primary objective of conducting this poll within the forum context?
2. What impact does the anonymous nature of the poll have on the accuracy and reliability of respondents' answers?
3. How does this poll contribute to broader conversations about compensation, income inequality, and work-life balance?

becuase normally if a company can give 9k normally is white collor plus should be on kl,with a transport, car and daily commute, petrol eat(rm20 normally in kl).

9k actually goes to ur hand only 7.5k,deduce house loan, car loan, u only left 2-3k,have to live a month..in kl...rich?

More than 20k. Freelancing for US company after I came back to Malaysia from studying in the US.

I used to work for them in the US and after I came back we continued the working relationship, but on paper I'm a contractor (freelancer) by registering as sole proprietor with SSM, and invoicing my company every month. I pay Malaysian taxes. Already kena audited by LHDN once for YA 2020 and no issues.

prolly thinking about jumping ship and want to do market research see what people are making to see if he is in the median or not
its a nice statistic to look at but its vastly bias if he ask on lowyat even in serious k due to the kind of people that browse here

not a bad thing, sometimes people dont realize that the 3k they make is like dog shit low end but they still live happily in their early 20s but then when late 20s then they want to pak tor and marry then they start to realize, how to survive ah, 3k macam not enough, then go search search see see what other people are making
some people also think the 12k they made is not enough and want to ask around to see what is 'normal'

i like to see these kind of market research but feel like most of the answers are fake tho

Focus on yourself instead of worrying about what others are making.

There's always going to be ppl making more than you, much much more than you... so? What are you going to do about it?
