Dear all,
My ride doesn't come with factory fitted TPMS.

I've used the external type (screw in sensors to tyre valve) but it is not practical.

My ride is due for tyre replacement, so I am thinking of fitting internal sensor.

Anyone has any recommendations what brand/model I should buy, and the cons of using such aftermarket ones? My main worries are short battery life in sensors (need to cabut tyre to replace), and air leakage.

TQ.

Battery wise I think should last pretty long, mine already more than 2 years and battery still good. But try to get those that has an independant screen to check or actually able to pair with an android player. checking thru phones all the time is hasle.

Mine was claimed to be able to pair with an android player but then it doesn't work.

Get those reputable brand sekaligus (like Hekkuse RM500) if going for internal tpms bcos it is a hassle to replace the sensors if any issue

Also take note these internal tpms cant replace the battery, u will have to replace the whole sensor if the battery kong which will be about RM120 per sensor (if not mistaken for Hekkuse). If buy those on shopee, i dunno whether they will sell u the sensors individually or not, but Hekkuse at least u go to the shops they can sell u individual sensors

I'm looking at those with independent screen, just like the external tpms I bought.

Yup, internal sensor developing issues is a headache. If it goes sot sot, I'll be getting nuisance alarms and will have to visit tyre shop to remove it. If it leaks, kena go back to tyre shop too. That's why I am getting feedback here.

Googling heckkuse now.

Take Hekkuse TPMS that installed in inner wheel. The battery could easily last 4-5 years for most TPMS.

Thank you for the suggestions guys, especially on the brands to choose. Admittedly, I have never heard of it until now.
I have replaced my tyres yesterday, so didn't have the opportunity to install any internal TPMS this time.

I may get it installed after reading reviews, say during my next tyre rotation time. Meanwhile, will have to make do with the external ones that I already have.

More questions:
1) are the sensors user serviceable - say to replace the battery or internal rubber parts that stop air leakage.

2) do you guys replace the internal sensors during tyre replacement?

3) do you just buy the new sensors, or need to buy the whole set (including the receiver/display) when it's time to replace them?

1. Internal TPMS type cant service, anything happen u need to change the whole sensor (RM120 per sensor for Hekkuse brand). Even if battery kong also need to change the whole sensor, not like external TPMS where u can just change the battery. For those non branded internal TPMS bought on shoppee, not sure whether can just buy the sensors or not

2. Yes, but the batteries last long for 3 years+ if no issues, so most of the time change TPMS sensors when change tires. Unless u change tires every 2 years la.

3. For Hekkuse brand, since each sensor is RM120, IMO might as well just buy the whole set again sweat.gif

How about the stock TPMS offered by car manufacturers? Does it has battery life in there? My car just hit 4 years old, and the TPMS stock still function correctly.

Cons, after tyre rotation, need to send SC for resetting, foc. But burn 1.5 hours usually waiting turn

I pun tak tau hahaha

External tpms is the easiest tpms to maintain, can change battery and also relatively accurate if u buy proper brand

i wanted to buy the 70mai external tpms but seems like they dont make it anymore sweat.gif
