Thank you for the suggestions guys, especially on the brands to choose. Admittedly, I have never heard of it until now.
I have replaced my tyres yesterday, so didn't have the opportunity to install any internal TPMS this time.
I may get it installed after reading reviews, say during my next tyre rotation time. Meanwhile, will have to make do with the external ones that I already have.
More questions:
1) are the sensors user serviceable - say to replace the battery or internal rubber parts that stop air leakage.
2) do you guys replace the internal sensors during tyre replacement?
3) do you just buy the new sensors, or need to buy the whole set (including the receiver/display) when it's time to replace them?
1. Internal TPMS type cant service, anything happen u need to change the whole sensor (RM120 per sensor for Hekkuse brand). Even if battery kong also need to change the whole sensor, not like external TPMS where u can just change the battery. For those non branded internal TPMS bought on shoppee, not sure whether can just buy the sensors or not
2. Yes, but the batteries last long for 3 years+ if no issues, so most of the time change TPMS sensors when change tires. Unless u change tires every 2 years la.
3. For Hekkuse brand, since each sensor is RM120, IMO might as well just buy the whole set again
