More bang for your buck and reliability + RV will be Harrier
The rest all entry level and expect the cost of owning conti.

i think better sort out what are the car main purpose for? and then decide which type to go, ie. SUV or Sedan for long distance, I would prefer Sedan for older folks with mix of urban and long distance, SUV

QUOTE(Razaelx @ Dec 13 2024, 11:46 AM) Currently eyeing X1 u11, 320i g20, Merc CLA, Harrier X1 feels cramp at the back 320i underpowered CLA made of cheap plastics and don't have rear aircond blower Harrier feels underpowered and doesn't have a premium badge For that money i would get a S60 T8, but you don't want PHEVs.

CR-V RS (hybrid). Spacious, very comfy, handles surprisingly good (of course not CX-5 level but pretty good for hunky SUV).

Highly recommend recond Toyota Crown 2.4L RS ADVANCE spec yr 2021-2023, Probably best 200-300k car, 2.4L turbo hybrid AWD with 2 motor generator & 6speed automatic, 340HP/543Nm for 5.1sec 0-100km/h, FC average 8L/100km, adaptive suspension with rear wheel steering for sporty cornering while comfy passing over bumps, ventilated front seats perfect for our climate, wireless Apple CarPlay & android auto, made in jp quality I guess if u care. Only negative I can think of are that u r paying over rm80k in import duty (included in the price), oversized 21inch rim that will make replacing tire fucking expensive, and subpar JBL speaker.

With such a broad question with only budget in mind, I can't help but to think the potential buyer is not a car enthusiast, just wanna get a luxury car for status and call it a day 🤷♀️
Ask la your family, what preferences and constraints...

Why not consider EVs?
It’s the best time now due to tax breaks.
Go test drive one and talk to EV owners.
If daily driving less than 200km and live in landed house, it’s really a no brainer.
EV brands to consider: BMW, Tesla, Smart, Hyundai, Kia, BYD, Volvo
