Hopefully some full time dropshipper can answer.
Do you guys spend on ads? if so, how much do you guys spend on ads per day and which countries are your ads based on?

no head no tail.

what product u selling
what margin u have?

let said u dropship to Singapore, you need to check your competitor, especially local 1.

dropship business require alot experience, experiment, and expertise.

in most case, you gonna spend RM100(ads)/customer, even higher. (early stage)
and not sure how determined you are.

An estimate budget is all I'm asking for about the ads. Just looking for a general understanding for now and how far can you guys go for if advertising in other countries such as US.

I don't have product, it would depends on whatever product that is trending based on research. Logically, going with the trend would be easier to find a winning product I assume.

So means you plan your ad budget based on your expected profit margin.

U better don't start.

Trend is not your friend as a starter
Trend = where all the big fish go

2nd. Your question is invalid.
Budget?

U think there is a fixed 1?

Depend on what u sell, who u selling to, how you sell where u sell. Ads on fb, google, LinkedIn or x

All different

I guess u never advertise online b4.
U need a lot of experiment.

Since u don't even know the product
Nobody able to answer

My advise, go stock trading instead of online business
Or O2O
Online = extremely tough market

Let me ask a better question, say you spent RM100 per day for ads in sg. What is the ROAS you would be expecting in the early stage?

You did mention per customer, are you only paying for per conversion?

I was asking for a general question about budget and clearly mentioned I don't have a product, if you'd like to make a point, you could have given me a budget for any specific product for example.

Based on my research from those who did have some result, they all did follow a trend of some kind.

Most of these doesn't get fixated to any particular product, they go with the stats.

Thank you for your concern. But I'll keep looking for more info and less disparaging opinions.

let me explain more...

Your question is really INVALID at all.

1. You not even mention the platform you selling.
Shopify? Woocommerce? ESTY? Amazon?

2. No market mentioned, No product Mentioned.

3. Not even mention the Traffic source platform ( FB/ X/ Youtube.. )

What answer we can give??

I try to let you see the reality here.
Of you can go pour in alot more time, and Money to see that yourself.

Either go solo (sell directly (shopify, own website ) or go Amazon FBA
both are equally brutal ( for US Market )

Is it not clear enough that I am a newbie asking a drop shipping biz in such a platform?

There is no need for disparaging tone. I don't know what I don't know. If you like to help, that's wonderful, if not, that's perfectly ok.

1. Etsy, shpify or maybe build my own site.
2. Will be researching based on trending keywords. Ideally product with at least 20% profit margin
3. FB ads mostly

I am not expecting short term success, just throwing in some effort whenever I can. This is a part time thing for me.

Not sure ur background and expertise

20% margin = extremely low

U need 60% to 80%
Item lost, credit card fraud, refund, return

Go study dropship service

Selling on first world is super troublesome, and brutal competition
Gdpa, tax issue, refund policy, return policy...

Just some experiences in biz, that's all, just not in drop shipping.

Thank you for the profit margin info.

A question on returns policy and product detects though, aren't dropshippers supposed to negotiate with suppliers and understand the risk before hand?

There are risks and challenges in all kind of biz my friend, I just don't see how unique it really gets aside from the way it's being sold and handled.

If ur supplier are frm china
And selling to u dirtcheap

There is no return or refund.

Especially involving international shipping
Because nobody want to bear the shipping cost

For US
U need to study the import tariff

Maybe it shipper can tell u
It ain't cheap now

Example a china watch cost usd15, but u sell usd199
Import tariff may cost double or triple ur cost of product.

Like I said, if u choose to sell to US because USD, this is certainly a dead move
