I'm looking for some feedback on which lens to get for indoor sports. If possible, without using the flash and the tripod icon_question.gif Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Well, there are a lot of lenses that you can consider. So, it would be better if you can tell us what's your working distance and also your budget for it. icon_rolleyes.gif

And definitely a 70-200 f2.8

fast lens like 50 1.4/1.2, 85 1.4, 70-200 2.8... but u may also consider camera body with low noise at high ISO such as the new Nikon D3, canon 5D or higher professional bodies...

I think before everyone just blurbs out lenses, what sort of sports do you intend to take especially indoor ones? What type of shots do you want to take and how far are you away from the action? What is the use of a 50mm if you are sitting in the stands trying to capture the badminton game. Most probably you might just get full blown shots.

If you are using a Canon DSLR like the 30D, 40D you can benefit from the low noise at High ISO especially if you shoot at 1600 and above.
