In my mind, i always put good tyre in front, bad condition behind

Reason he said is, if car buang, at least still can use steering to control car. So bad tyre always in front

The general recommendation by tyre manufacturers of better at rear is correct though.

If you are worried the about the condition of not so good tyres at the front will blow out and cause you to lose control then you should consider changing to new ones instead.

This is correct. If all tire size is same the better/newer tire should be in the rear, reason is the rear will help keep the car more better in stability in case of emergency. If the rear loss control, majority of drivers cannot steer back and prone to accident. My mechanic side now got 1 Lexus GX350, previos owner did not took care of the tires, lost control & accident when tow back to my mechanic place found out one of the rear tires already botak. doh.gif

The sifu is correct. The 2 worn out on the front tyres after couple of months when you need to change them then the current 2pcs rear put in front and the new one put behind.

Define "good"?

Arguably all tires play a role in adverse conditions.

The guy betul, if u loose control with front tyre u will notice immediately and might be able to steer back using steering wheel. if rear one most likely gg too late edi

i put my PS3 at the rear and reasonably good tyre(not as good as PS3 for the size) at the front despite PS3 is older than the front since PS3 will last longer on the rear and PS3 is better on wet condition. when i do encounter aqua planning, my car remain straight despite front is floating.

If wear is abnormal (uneven, or rate is quicker than expected) then the next thing should be to look at wheel alignment. While on the hoist a good mechanic can also spot other potential issues (leaking absorber, work linkages or bushings).
If wear is normal, and the wheels can be reasonably balanced (not requiring extra amount of balance weight, or remains out of balance), the good ones should be in front - because this would keep the steering wheel vibration low from the wheel imbalance.
If your tyres are more than halfway worn - the ones with deeper grooves should be in the front because in the wet, these are the ones with better chance to slice through standing water compared to rear.
Any tyre grooves reaching the treadwear indicator isn't safe regardless on any corner it is mounted on. Time to get a fresh set.

as me who experience near accident collision due to tyre skidding at highway, I will replace all 4 new tyres each time. as long as new tyre, doesnt need to buy the highest premium brand, is good enough.

X rotation. 1 good and one bad up front and back.

Did visual inspection and front left outer makan more than front right side.

So took back right and swap with front left.

If you rotate your tyres frequently.. and your car’s suspension is working fine, why will you have 2 botak tyres? lol

Sure all botak together what.

If you’re on staggered setup, just change tyre. Habis cerita.

On RWD cars, its even more important to place the newer tyres at the rear.

Balancing is to reduce the vibration due to unbalance tire weight. When vibration is less, it will reduce the wear of suspension and also prolong the tire lifespan. Your front and rear dont have suspension and bushing?

Did you mistaken tire rotation with balancing?

https://www.bridgestonetire.com/learn/maint.../tire-rotation/

Plenty of articles why u need to do tire rotation in the net. Go google and read it.

Regular rotation helps to even out the wear of all 4 tyres.
If you don't do it often (like me) or not at all, you will always end up with 2 badly worn and 2 less worn tyres. So when it's time to change the 2 badly worn tyres, you will have to:
1) change the 2 bad tyres, having 2 new and 2 old tyres, creating less ideal grip imo, and the cycle continues.
Or
2) change all 4, like I do, wasting money. In my case, my car odometer reads 45k km, and I'll be changing my 3rd set of tyres since I got the car brand new. 2 tyres have reached the wear indicator whereas the other 2 still have 1-2mm above the wear indicator.

Another issue is when your tyre model is discontinued and you will have to use 2 types of tyres. Is it good? Certainly not ideal imo.
