Hi all,
Would want to know if anybody can explain thr chartered room option for first class in the sleeper train from Bangkok to Hat Yai. Is it the price for 2 person or 1 person?
For kids below 3, still need to buy ticket or free?

Based on my previous experience taking trains to Bangkok from B'worth, 1st class, if family, choose the entire room. If alone, take either top or bottom bunk. (bottom better if need to go bathroom at nite more than 1-2 times)

2nd class is all sitting and converted to sleeping bunks from 6.30pm (Thai time), again, choose lower bunk if not pro to sleep upper bunk. Fell once when 5 years old, acc to my father. rclxub.gif
*IMHO 2nd class is more fun, can make frens or meet backpackers plus food hawkers will sell their wares on the train.

Private first-class coaches are good for kids (they only charge abv 12 y.o.) in families. Hope this answers your questions.

You leave Hatyai ard 3pm and arrive next day in Bangkok. Different view from the windows as you see more sawah padi than green forest. Best time is stops at stations where hawkers ply their wares.. evening time can order food from galley like tom yum, fried catfish, crispy pork, fried rice, green curry, etc. Also they sell Mekong and beer on trolleys during dinner time too. Yah, not halal if need to ask. Breakfast also shiok with American Breakfast, fried thai noodles, rice, porridge or just half boiled eggs plus tea/coffee/*bear milk smile.gif

hi,, i am planning to buy ticket also... are you using the app d-ticket?

a bit confused on the room option because it keeps giving me warning like the following... i think this room option might be for those who wants to book sleeper train but don;t want roomate? so price is higher? but if want to stay 2 persons... then must book separately?
