Hi all, have a problem with my gate which may or may not be related to the autogate. Hope somebody can help.

Installed autogate more than a year ago, no more warranty and this is my first autogate. But now the right side of the gate is getting lower it’s touching the ground at the end of it. Then I noticed the gate’s top hinge is also starting to crack. Now I worry it will topple over.

Wondering why and how could this happen? Is it common? The gate is almost 10 years old without a problem but now this happens after installing the autogate.

Is the autogate pushing down the gate? Is the arm too heavy for it, or there’s angle issue? It was so smooth after installation until the last couple of months.

Or is it just some kids climbing the gate? We never touched the gate since installing the autogate.

Any suggestions on how to fix this is also welcomed.

Autogate brand is DNOR. Seller says not autogate issue.

Thanks.

Hi all, thank you so much for your replies. It really was that the hinges are failing, my question was really more about what may have caused it. I became curious because it only started happening after installing the autogate arms so was wondering if it had a role.

The gate is fixed by welding enforcement plates to the hinges and now it seems very sturdy and stable.

The guy said it mostly caused by frequent operation of the gates, while he doesn’t rule out kids climbing on it. The autogate could cause it if it’s set to swing too wide but he didn’t think it was and it could just be a coincidence.
