They won't. the doc will only suggest angio when they suspect there is a blockage.

Angiogram is quite pricey... and I dont think they would do that unless you are complaining chest pain. Angiogram is usually done with angioplasty to avoid paying twice for angiogram.

My dad did angioplasty twice. First time (pre MCO, cant remember when) was emergency so no experience. Just sign everything and boom, settled. Second time was earlier this year, he went to check but doctor said since he got chest pain, then ask him to consider if he was prepared to do angioplasty on the same day if the angiogram result isnt good, so that he did not have to pay that cost again (he did not have medical insurance). The rest is history.

Stress test and ECG test first. If the result is very suspected and doubtful then Dr will suggest angiogram or scan.

I did angio bcos the tread mill stress test shown normal. but I constantly felt there was a ticking on left side of chest while resting. I am 57 exercise 3-4 times a week ( jogging) about 30-40min each time. I started jogging at the age of 45, ran 3x 42km marathon. Now jogging just routine exercise.
The angio finding, LAD got 30-50% stenosis. I still continue running..heart rate max 150-160bpm

at my age he said it is normal. as long still can run and not feel anything when exerting, it is ok.

he recommended I take statin & blood thinner. blush.gif
