Saga 2020 December year end bought, approaching 4 years and going to renew road tax soon.

Last year basic premium is 1210.17, NCD 38.33%, with 150 topup for windscreen and 6% service tax and 10 bucks for stamp duty.
This year basic premium is 1221.97, NCD 45%, same topup, but 8% service tax instead of 6%.

Is it normal for car premium to hike up this year? Under Alliance insurance since the sales are saying this is the only premium for PIP to work if want extra coverage for key loss.

Last year total 960.10, this year quotation total 897.85, reducing by 6.5% only, given NCD increase by 6.67% from 38.33% to 45%. What I am not satisfied is the sales rep cannot answer my question when I try to dig deeper.

Sifus here can advise on this? If possible, any suggestions which premium to go with for cheaper price under PIP?

Why need to buy from Proton? Just go online and buy lah. Nowadays got many online options, since no agent involved you will get an additional 10% discount on the premiums as well.

There is Proton Insurance Program cover for key loss, I am not sure whether it's worth it, that's why the question.

May I know what do you mean additional 10% discount on premiums? Discounted by online shopping?

Other insurers also have cover for key loss it's not something unique.
If you buy an insurance online instead of via an agent, the agent commission which is 10% of the premium is given to you as a discount since there is no agent involved in the transaction.

Thanks for the verification, will look into it. Overpaid for few hundreds for 4 years, tired of it when starting to aware insurance price hike.
