Hi all,
Just want to ask opinion is it possible to buy medical insurance plan for my parents who are 76-77 respectively. If yes, can suggest medical plan for me?
They have no insurance plan, and i understand most of insurance has max entry age which couldn't fulfill due to their age.
Thank you.

insurance is shared risk. The well subsidise the sick.
At 70+, there is no "healthy" anymore, falling sick at some point (and eventually dying) is a 100% guarantee. The premium will therefore equal the expected cost of healthcare, plus the insurance company profits.

Almost will be kena deny by insurance company
And not worth it..
Once u buy, the first 2 year if got claim, all will dig out whether the claim is pre existing issue or not.. will dig until rat hole also keluar.
And premium also very high.. if they cover, also will be heavy premium loading, and maybe got non covered item also

Hi guys. Thank you and im agree to everyone's inputs.
Each time require medical attention, need to wait queue for months for diagnosis/treatment. Alternatively, go to private hospital can be pretty costly if it's urgent.
Sadly, i just realise they dont have medical coverage and impossible to apply at their age now.

Diagnosis / treatment without hospitalization are not covered in medical insurance. However, it is claimable if the insured is admitted thereafter the diagnosis and outpatient treatment. The number of days covered under pre-hospitalization claims varies by policy and insurer, but is usually between 30 and 60 days. Claim eligibility is also subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. This post has been edited by mini orchard: Nov 23 2024, 06:47 PM

If really don't want to get medical insurance, then a person best to be disciplined and set aside the same amount of money otherwise would have been used for insurance premium. Keep topping up every year and don't ever withdraw. Maybe one day when really need money for medical treatment, that pool of money is enough. Such is the alternative if already cannot get insurance anymore.
