Basically the house phone of my grandparents house recently went down. Unifi told me must upgrade to wireless already because the cables around the area are in "critical condition". Ok lor I agreed to the upgrade thinking they would just change it to the wireless fiber type. Their customer service even told me this is free of charge and there will be no price increase. Somehow during today's installation visit, a wifi router was installed along with the cordless phone. I dont want the wifi because the house only got old people, they usually only use the house phone. Nowadays house phone must have wifi router only then house phone can work ke? Very confused. I cannot help much physically because I dont live in their area haih

Is the cable to the house fiber? If yes, then probably Unifi package with internet you think they just install fiber foc? Phone also cannot directly use fiber...need to connect to the fiber termination unit

Just get a GSM to landline adapter. It converts any landline phones into 2G GSM phone. I paid around 150 last time. Has a battery inside for backup. U practically can call anyone anywhere by lugging the phone and adapter along.

I cannot help much physically because I dont live in their area haih Unifi comes bundled with FREE Telephone Number that runs on VoIP (Voice-over-Internet Protocol). The backbone of the access is using Fibre Optic cable. The so called wireless phone is just a Cordless Desk Phone, connected directly to the Router. Unifi also provide Telephone with VoIP only (No Internet), but the so called router is slightly different because it only runs on VoIP, there will not be any internet access. This also runs on fibre optic cable. Hope this helps...
