Hi. Anyone here using Astro Fibre manage to change routers?

I was using Unifi 800mbps, but decided to swap to Astro Fibre because existing Astro subscribers only need to pay RM90 for 500mbps.

But I’m having trouble changing routers. My house is 3 storeys, so I have 3 Asus routers connected via mesh when I had Unifi. But yesterday Astro came to install & gave me their router. But now I wanna change it back to Asus but I can’t seem to do it.

Filled in the PPPoE username, password etc but it’s still showing ‘disconnected’ on the Asus login page.

Called Astro but no one seems to know how to help & kept offering me to pay additional RM20 a month to rent their mesh instead. Are they blocking external routers for this purpose?

The router is Asus RT-AX86S connected to the TUF-AX5400 & RT-AC66U B1 via mesh.

Did you set your VLAN correctly?

630 - INTERNET
817 - TR069 (PUT ON VOIP/IPTV)

Hi Faez,

Mind to share how's your experience so far adter switching from Unifi to Astro fiber?
I'm planning to switch from Maxis fiber to Astro Fiber, but not sure it is a good move or not.

TIA.

Very stable! I have yet needed to restart modem / router, compared to Unifi where I had to restart every week (or even few days). Better traffic I think

Hi Faez.
I did't found "Astro Fiber" in ISP profile as per photo below. What do you choose when you configure ?

Appreciate your help

Try using this old manual since it looks similar to your Asus web configuration page:

Instead of Maxis configuration, use the VLAN IDs given above and your Astro Fibre login?

https://mybhat.blogspot.com/2014/10/asus-rt...-fiber-and.html

You only need Internet and LAN Port 4 for your IPTV
