I just bought a cheap Myvi 2005 and I am planning to drive it off road sometimes. I think 2WD is ok (no 4wd myvis anyway) but I am wondering what would be the best way to increase ground clearance?

In America, people add lift kits on the struts to lift their cars. Now I am not sure if I could find similar kits for Myvi?

Alternatively, maybe changing the coils would work? sorry please be gentle I am a total newbie when it comes to this.

Bro, you think those 2wd drive offroad just lift? You are so wrong bro, even tho some of them 2wd they got mod or change LSD (Limited Slip Differential) gearbox. If you stuck one side of your tires in muddy area, normal open differential gearbox only will keep spinning the stuck tires. LSD gearbox will spread power distribution to both sides, so your another side of tires can still got traction if in challenging road condition.

So changing the spring (coil?) will increase ground clearance? The car in your tictok looks sick

I think just changing bigger tyre without heightening the car will scrap the wheel arch right? I tried searching shopee but there are many standard spring, not sure which one will work. Do you know what is the right search term?

I doubt that he is going hardcore, maybe he is working in estate/plantation or some sort, so he wanted to lift the car a bit so that it will be easier navigating through it..

yeah man. I plan to drive this car to Laos and some roads there are not well paved. Or there might be potholes so i think increasing the height will be easier. Or the road might be really bumpy that a low car will scrap the bottom

Adding LSD is almost 4K from a part I found in shopee. That's almost the price I paid for my beater myvi haha. If I ever get stuck in a mud or something, I will wait for someone to tow me out. Not going anywhere remote but highway conditions in other countries might not be great

If you're using back stock/standard absorber.
Front is easy, just need to make a spacer block on the top mount.
Can be easily design/manufacture.

Rear, need 2 things. Coil spacer and absorber spacer bracket.
Coil you can get those thick (1 inch) rubber insulator.
Absorber need to create a bracket on the torsion beam.

search google, how to raise a car (not feed it and send it to school though), or chatgpt it with accurate prompts like how to life a myvi or raise a ground clearance of perodua myvi

putting the spring bush will raise the car by a bit, 2~3cm, but there's a risk of topping out the stock shocks. maybe not a problem to you, but the tyre can loose traction

try google what cars they use in Laos, and what they do to it maybe you'll get a better idea, instead of over-engineering with limited budget that you have

Winch good 1 also not cheap, unless he go search for used or half-cut unit.
Besides that, he also need additional battery to support and mod front bumper (metal bumper/bracket) to connect to chassis.
Once go into modifying road, endless money need to spend.

that's nice trip you are planning there; pretty sure you can get new LSD with half the price u mentioned before. Don't forget extra full sized spare tyre.
