Just checking in if we can still use the MyKad as a TouchNGo card? a friend of mine checked with me and i don't have the answer for her as her MyKad's front protective plastic layer started peeling and she got it replaced.

Upon attempting to add the MyKad into both TnG's web portal + eWallet app, it shows invalid card. Will JPN send the numbers as a batch to TouchNGo to activate the MyKad?

Edit: Older batches of MyKad's will have TouchNGo printed behind them, that is not the case for current batches

You need to get the serial no.
One way to get that is from the top up receipt.

Just remember they got expiry date

IC mykad need to reload manually via counter
cannot use app/web etc

my mykad is linked to my ewallet autoreload

it is more than 10 years old tho

Yes, you can but not sure about getting it to read inside eWallet app/portal.

I wouldn't do it though. I did that last time, over time the card started peeling from constant use and damaged the chip as well. In the end not only my money was stuck inside, I also couldn't do some branch banking stuff as it required reading the chip on my IC. Good thing they were helpful on my case of getting the money transferred to a new card. Maybe I was lucky. I've heard few complaints about getting their balance transferred to a new card being a real pain the ass.

The money stays in your ewallet. Doesn't go into your card.
Nfc card only can top up with app.

I did try this but TNGo staff told me it cannot be done. Only way is to apply for a new MyKad.
