OMG.... why you feed grapes? Grapes and raisins are toxic... it is one of the fruits we should never ever feed to dogs lah. Please do research. You are lucky nothing happen now but in the long run.... dunno what would happen later to the health......

Rice and sugar is a myth. Vet said it doesn't do anything lah. If I say, feed rice with vinegar, people would follow as well when you tell them the fur is nicer. Then they get brainwashed in a way, coz in their mind, they remember feed rice with sugar makes fur nicer, so when they try it on their dogs, their brain would remember that tip and will make you think rice and sugar helps.

Dog kibble salty... LOL.... Human food is saltier.

Feeding kibbles is convenient and all the proper nutrition is there. If we homecook, me must take into consideration about how much protein is proper, is the carbs enough? How much fiber should be included, vitamin, oil and calcium supplements.... how about minerals? Headache.... I did that before.... with kibbles, it is so much easier, buy it, scoop out and feed.


That is not a good diet at all. Carrots, not very digestible and high in Vitamin A, it can cause Vitamin A intoxication, this is the same with liver and offal. Rice is just carbs, not much nutritional value... vegetables... what kind? Not all veggies are safe for dogs either... like tomatoes, garlic, onion....

Please do research on dog diet, and also stick with dogfood. It is for your Paco's own good. If you simply feed what you like, your dog could have a very short lifespan as shih tzus have sensitive hearts and breathing problems.

Colour fading is 100% normal for shih tzus coz this depends on the genes and colour variety of the shih tzu. Tri-colours sold will always fade... solid colour or 2 bi-colour won't fade so much.... food, no.... food doesn't fade the colour.... is the genes. Sometimes it is caused by cheap shampoo as well.

Well, now people simply breed, that's why loh.

You will only notice that black, is the only colour that won't really fade. As puppies, all the other colours are very very vibrant but as it grows, it will fade just a bit..... but I dunno why Malaysia, many shih tzus realy fade till you can't really know the true colour hahahah.... I would say this is from the breeding and matching....

Added on December 13, 2007, 11:53 amAh.... seems it is a fading gene.... in Malaysia, not many people study the genetics in Malaysia so all also fade and fade lah. In US, those people really breed according to genetics, they study colour genetics...

Habit lah. Dogs will not eat their food and stay picky if they know their owners are soft hearted. I starve my Chelsea for 24 hours, make her feel that if she do not eat what I give her, then she will suffer(I know, sounds cruel) and I only did that once. Now, she eats up everything, don't dare to not eat her kibbles anymore.
