the 50 series are about 1.3k retail save for the EX, AX and MH series. those are 1.5k retail @ guitar collection. you can PM Dead Eye, he gives pretty good prices on LTD guitars

I bought my ESP 10 yrs ago in Malaysia, and I also went over to Singapore to check some out...I paid RM3.6k for my guitar, its the regular mirage series (no longer in production). And I saw the Kirk Hammett series going for around SD 1.6k at Davis....so yeah, Singapore WAS a hell lot cheaper to get ESPs....not sure about now.
BTW: I hate the Davis' boss...arrogant @$$hole....but his daughter was hot though..... |

for sing prices.....
take the malaysian price, convert it, then take some 10% - 20% off it. That's should roughly be how much you're paying for it in singapore That's my rough estimation....I think it's around there =/ |

If you put it in a gig bag and you look old enough to say "I went down Singapore for a concert", then they won't tax
Normally they won't tax.... but you never know. And I would actually rather buy it from Malaysia if it's maybe 100 or 200 cheaper.... mainly because the hassle and the worry of customs is just not worth THAT much. |

sometimes its worth paying a little more to save you the trouble. don't forget petrol prices too |

And if this is a beginner's guitar, there really isn't much difference in price. Trust me. You'll make it out easier buying the LTD in Malaysia......
If you're buying something like the ESP KH or Alexi Laiho guitar. |

hey sweettooth.. i found that actually both also comes with 24 frets and both offer string thru bodies, though the mh has the floyd option as well. I guess the differences, besides the headstock,is the different maple top(one quilted another flame) and the pickups only. But I thought H series have that pointy headstock like the one used by Page Hamilton..

looks like they've changed their models beginning this year
notice how the models on their website is 51,101 etc? the -50 models used to have 22 frets and a stop tailpiece. looks like now its ToM bridges but still 22 frets on the models below the 250 series. and also all -50 models this year have received "better" pickups, lh-150 replacing the former lh-100 though i dunno how different they sound like |

i use ESP basses. yes sg so much much cheaper. the Ltd F104 is SGD$450 in sg in KL is RM$1650. when i bought it comes with softcases, cables and some picks, etc..
when i bought the TA-500 LTD for Tom Araya basses hit me for SGD$900. i saw it in guitar colletion dun even dare to ask the price. overall sg is cheaper for guitar, and theres a few guitar shops at peninsula plaza that gives good prices. Swee Lee is a bit ex. but if u know the ppl there and regular got regular prices. check around |

i think he means the F-10 that comes with the f-10 pack
but if you do mean the difference between F-50 and F-100, the f-100 has a flamed maple top. This post has been edited by SweetTooth: Feb 2 2008, 05:20 PM |

I suggest you to try them out first before buying it.. there are better guitars at your price range, agathis guitar is such a turn off.. the sustain and tone is very bad... Don't get me wrong though, I don't hate LTD/ESP guitars. I've tried the ltd ec-1000 and they sound very good.. lots of clarity, to be more specific... The high-end LTDs are good but not those low-end ones....
If you're into metal-looking guitars try considering Ibanez.. Their low-ends are better than ltd's in the long run.. P.S. Good luck in choosing your guitar.. This post has been edited by jacksonyong: Feb 3 2008, 05:12 AM |

sljw : Basswood is actually not a bad wood lah.. Heheh
And Basswood's not so "warm" as Mahogany, coz the highs tend to ring out better than Mahogany. I prefer playing clean stuffs on my Mahogany bodied guitar.. Sounds warmer n more depth.. If there's a choice between Basswood and Agathis, I would take Basswood anytime.. Agathis is..... shit. Now I'm wondering what to do with my other Basswood guitar that's in the same tuning.. Argh. |

I don't think it's wrong asking him casually.. it's not as if I'm asking him to seal a deal with me here. Didn't even drop any indication that I'm going to buy one. If I were to ask in his thread it will mislead him and think I'm a potential customer, when in actual fact I don't have cash right now.
Sorry anyhow. |

does anyone here own any LTD with floating bridge? does the under license bridge hold the tune well?
i had a chat with an owner of MH-400 before, says that the bridge is quite good, so i wonder if the 100/103 series is the same... |
