Ayam see some WMC, VS, VI credit cards do have travel insurance coverage if purchase air ticket by using either of their credit cards.

Some questions:
1. If purchase air tickets for friends and ayam, does the travel insurance covers all the passengers tickets which charge to the cards? Or only cover the card holders?

2. For travel insurance, which one is the best option:
I. Opt in the airline travel insurance when purchasing the air ticket
II. Just pay air ticket with either above credit cards
III. Self purchase individual travel insurance like Etiqa, Takaful etc

3. Anyone claim travel insurance before? How was the process?

1) for the credit card that offers it, the card issuing bank website would have the policy contract for download and review., Spend time to go over it to see who gets covered in case of a claim.

2) Buy separate is best. MSIG policy is pretty good.

3) Claimed before for wife, quite straightforward.

Credit card travel insurance, like airlines insurance, are normally very limited in coverage and claim.

Their insurance is more like add-on benefit. So they only cover very limited scenario.
Travel insurance is not their core business.

Buying dedicated travel insurance is the best.

So far, I tried AXA and Etiqa
Etiqa can buy online. Just key-in details and pay with credit card.
Etiqa covers flight delay, and will auto bank-in if the flight is delayed after certain hours.
1 thing i like about Etiqa is the cashless medical care. Meaning if you admit to hospital overseas, Etiqa will handle the payment for you. You don't have to pay first and claim later.
Luckily I have yet to make a claim from Etiqa before. So not sure how efficient the actual claim process
