hi

just recently completed a miniature marble run

Attached Image

however the stock motor is not strong enough to turn the gears continuously

therefore i am looking at other motor that hopefully can turn the gears continuously , saw from shopee there is a mini motor that has this as power connection, question is what product should i connect this cable with in order to provide power?

Attached Image

thanks

This cable is for the brushless motor.
So you'll need to get a brushless speed controller, but make sure it matches to the motor's spec.

Can't see your motor.
Try swap to geared motor for more torque

sorry, below is the motor

both are brushed motor. use a h-bridge speed controller or variable voltage will do.
the top one have more torque i believe

you mean i buy the above motor

casing with melded wire and buy below and good to go? xD

Wait. You need to see this video. Cannot anyhow buy any motor and replace.

yup the thing is they didnt say what items to buy haha, not local video

The original video already show using a geared motor and power using wall adaptor
Doesn't work?

You can buy a bigger motor with reducer gear and
The speed controller. can see video shared by kucingrimau

i asked shopee seller and recommended me to buy below , sorry for very crude paint drawing ahahaha

motor will be soldered then connect to pwm, then wall plug connect to dc jack and put black and red wire to the pwm

Yup, your connection looks correct. Just to point out that the motor used in the YT video is this

And your speed controller can be one without reversing function. If the direction is not correct, just reverse the wires at the motor. Brushed DC motors change direction when you change the polarity of the wires.

Both of these save a bit of moolah over what you have in your diagram

yes its correct.

thank you both so much for the guidance

i feel that the original stock motor is 6mm in diameter? the one i bought from shopee has 6mm in diameter

from the below YT video is from minute 14:45 he started to show the stock motor head/connector from the original marble run set say the head is too loose xD

thank you for pointing out the motor used in the YT is from the shopee link which i see is 4mm, hmm cannot really test till i go back to my condo and get the marble set run xD

hopefully it fits else i will have to buy brass coupling shaft connector from 6mm to whichever mm the head size is laugh.gif

manage to make it works, the pwm shows RED color indicator when power on, should be ok right, no need to have green light to be safe? xD

any keywords to search for or possible diy kind of thing to buy from shopee to house the pwm + motor + on off switch cos seems too bulky and messy to carry around without a "housing for them"

Would something like this be suitable? Just suggesting, don't know your actual requirements

As for the red LED on the PWM controller, don't worry about it. The LED color is red, there is no green. It is just to show the PWM is ON (I use a few of them too)

icic mostly u use for what purpose haha, thanks for the casing recommendation

i just realize the soldered red wire to the motor is quite flimsy

abit of pressure will tear off the wayar haha, or i can replace with thicker wiring ? hmm

or use black tape to tape off the wire so not so fast to break
