i have job offer oversea, i foresee if i take up the offer, i will come back here once or twice a year, each visit last a week or two.

so, currently i have a fun weekend car that i love very much that i dont really want to sell it.

apart from selling it, what are my options in storing/maintaining the car in tiptop condition while im away from the country?

im not keen to handover to my friends and family, as there is a risk that they or their sons/daughter/friends might "accidentally" take/"lend" it for a joyride.

have an extra covered parking lot here in PJ upscale neighborhood area, tight security and keep sheltered all day in serviced residences, pay me 250 per month to park, every week will send a live video of your car after starting the car for you, if so required will keep the engine running and wheel spinning within the parking area, fine with you putting an airtag in it so you know the car is never out of condo, hit me up if you are keen

I strongly suggest you give to someone you can trust to take care

When I went into SG to stay 3 months at a time during COVID lockdown, the car I park at dim area no sunlight - when I return I discovered car seat turn moldy. Gross

Where you heading to for work?

1. Take off the negative pole for the battery.

2. Drain all fuel from the tank to prevent varnish build up.

3. Drain water from the radiator to prevent rust. This is especially for cast iron engine block.

4. Seal entire car in shrink wrap. About 2-3 layers.

5. Put some rat poison around and underneath the car. This will prevent rodents from camping or chewing the car.

Consider renting a secure, climate-controlled storage unit or using a specialty car storage service.

would recommend ts to reconsider selling it.

365 days, you will be back 7 days?

im back for holiday for 4-6 weeks every year, i also ended up selling my car.

it's not worth the road tax, and insurance at the end of the day. so much maintenance to do. save those money, and rent some fancy car for your long drive when you come back

congrats on your overseas job offer!

rent a studio apartment for its parking spot and storing your shit locally, then just park there with canvas.
disconnect batteries if you're afraid of it draininig, but best is still to get someone to drive it at least once a month.

car works best when it gets well lubricated.
can't lubricate if just sitting there.

The reason you 'loved' your car is because you are uncertain of the employment.

You can only afford to lose one but not both.

Don't be a slave to depreciating assets. If is time to sell .... SELL ! and vice versa.

I have an unutilized car park at my condo, I wonder anyone wants to park there in exchange for monthly fee, I can help to take care of the car, start up and take it for a short spin weekly

Wrap it with thick plastic sheets like those used to protect cars against floods. Available online for purchase. Once u done parking the car over the plastic sheet, disconnect the negative battery terminal and wrap the car. Secure it with cable ties.
