city square should be a apartment condo or high class hotel

during the 2000 and 2010s, actually CS is quite important to commuters before the larger malls are built.

In fact, these days, if the merlions dont want to travel far but only day trip, CS is still the go-to place. Convenient for them.

Mid Valley Southkey have many exit right?

user posted image
Paradigm Mall JB has a nice bridge link connecting to Jalan Skudai and the Pusat Perdagangan Danga Utama area.
*
If you see the picture, the actual exit only 2.

One from the top left, and another from the lower middle right.

Yeah, the car park got a few exit points but the actual road out of the vicinity is practically only 2.

The one on the top left, will kena block if EDL jam or the exit to bakar batu is jammed (which happen frequently enough)

The lower middle right exit, is slightly better as it got path to leave EDL section. But there is a not very big traffic light intersection there.

This MV very easy gridlock.

Paradigm problem good is it exits to one of the biggest road in JB and the entry/exit is separate. But if got problem, those inside the car park will kena teruk

There's only 1 exit to Woodlands via EDL to return Singapore. Other exit is not ideal and will inadvertently get caught in more jam.

even the map doesnt show how the traffice will slow down. Elevated path, then zoom down to P1 level, then return to ground level.

The one design the road very smart but ignore driver conditions.

Mid Valley Southkey ,owned by IGB Company, is so clever.

Don’t they have any other solutions for this issue?

Do you have any good suggestions?
Do you mean that if there's a traffic jam on Jalan Skudai, all the cars in Paradigm Mall JB won't be able to exit the car parks as well?
*
The upper left road is actually a flyover into southkey.

I think they need an extra exit flyover further away. To avoid bakar batu/edl combo jam.

I forget there is a small exit to the north of EDL. But this one will be a difficult exit if bakar batu traffic volume is high.

Coming soon, the roundabout on the left of the map, will open to another side of the southkey area. It should elevate the jam a bit but those seeking for a quick path to bakar batu and edl wont be benefited much.

Both actually. If Jln Skudai too jam, paradigm mall ppl either take the taman road to escape or jam into jln skudai. But because the car park design is not very good, the jam is more likely to be internal during peak hours.

If come from JB side, then the flyover into paradigm mall is famous for jam due to the volume enter, even if jln skudai is not jam.

I often spend at least 30 minutes looking for a parking space in Paradigm Mall JB.

Usually, only level 3 has available spaces. Levels UG, G, 1, and 2 are usually full.
I think their parking spaces less than 2000.
The Hyatt Place Hotel is open now, and they share parking with the mall, right?
*
Not sure o. Long time didnt go paradigm after MV open.

Cause paradigm wasnt that great last time when KSL is the better place.

This was during 2020.Covid-19 era.

Why gate 4 so special?
*
this one is to the multi storied parking. direct access to the shopping floor but limited in spaces.

I think during covid era, also the starting year of the mall, the parking there is free on certain days and times but need to scan card to enter.

but i dont like to park there. macam parking in singapore car park.

Like I always say, Malaysia must have the balls to build 100 fully-manned customs lanes to suck dry Singapore domestic consumption worth hundreds of billions of dollars every year.

How many loaves of bread or how many rolls of toilet paper can Singapore consume?

Why 33 million Malaysia scared of 6 million Singapore bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

More like they are too lazy to do it.

Try tell them their KPI is tied to money collected, then we might see something different.

Is this level from the JB customs direction?

Can you see that almost all the cars in the car park on this level have Singapore license plates?
*
Kind of. Since they exit SG to EDL directly, it is the most logical way that they will enter MV directly when they exit EDL to the elevated circle lanes, into gate 4. Cause gate 4 is not on the ground level. (there is a lane that go to the basement parking at the same EDL exit mentioned here which is nearer than gate 4, but i guess SG ppl prefer to see sky).

But then, during weekend, it is also very likely to see 4 to 5 sg plats, out of 10 in basement parking.3

Open space parking that is not connected to the mall. Usually only see tourist bus in it.

This is KL Eco City (just beside Mid Valley KL)

I think Mid Valley Southkey JB and Paradigm Mall JB should have many flyover or interchange for easier access to the mall entrances and exits.
*
Southkey might have that kind of space for additional flyovers.

Paradigm mall might be harder. In the first place, paradigm mall design and layout was planned decades ago before it stop for years.

dunno southkey doing new bridges or not but I notice they doing new housing development opposite, near the flats

which is not accessible itself directly thru southkey megamall, unless jam into Bayu and go from the inner route

u can literally see the place opposite while exiting car park, but u cant access directly, if tat road is made possible, I think the jam maybe not as bad
*
you mean the kampung area directly to the north of MV right? MV probably doesnt want kg ppl to flood its road.

yea ard there, next to the flats

https://southkey.com.my/projects/nadi-residences/

u can see here for more info, I just noticed it yesterday

from the site it seems to have small units only, not cheap either, psf almost 600
*
Wont be cheap. the first 4km land from city center or causeway, is already pretty much full. Expanding to 6km to 10km, these area are considered premium now.

Technically, it should be considered as urban area. haha

Yeah, possible but the jam is so bad already plus bayu puteri have so much highrise, so if you factor in the flats being occupied... And now the new development.... People are not going to be happy.

Permas bridge probably needs to be 4 lanes each way or have additional 4 lanes that also contraflow.
*
Permas bridge used to be one bridge only. 2lanes - one lane in, one lane out.

Then upgrade, build another bridge. The existing bridge towards permas is the older of the two.

So become 4 lanes. But what happen is the Bakar batu junction problem was never fully resolved.

During the dinosaur year, coming from southkey direction, the traffic needs to passby that jalan pantai, basically cross a bit into the village, and exit at the current entrance into bakar batu. This created massive jam.

Then after they redevelop the whole junction to the current form, another 2 problems occurs. That cacat cross juction that looks like 2 T junction kissing each other.

From permas, exiting the road without going up to EDL or coming from town, all bottle neck in that bloody junction. So again, the bridge jam.

They should have create another flyover ease the traffic to EDL/PLUS north. But somehow the authority in JB is big with creating junctions and traffic light. Totally ridiculous.

Same like what happen at the current EDL exit to JB near the immigration for vehicles. Totally ridiculous jam.

Haiz...

Some malls in JB are not doing very well......

Komtar JBCC mall's business is doing poorly.

It has a great location—right next to JB Customs—but the lifts and floor tiles are subpar.
*
KOMTAR design is totally fail. I think it will thrive even it didnt renovate last tme.

very messy area. been there once and the exit was horrible with no proper lanes and q cutters. The roads also jammed.... maybe i am not familiar in which exit/way to use.

why do the sporeans go to this mall? i dont find it interesting
*
From the west side, AEON Bukit Indah is the nearest mall to residential areas mostly populated by ppl work or related to sg, and the 2nd link. Cukup la untuk orang2 yg malas jam.
