iirc... for HONOR, it's similar glass material used on their phones. but it doesn't mean cannot break. just that, not so easy to break.

so far, been gaming with it and it is quite good. there's slight improvement over the X9B. i play mainly MLBB. dun see any issue with Genshin, etc as well, but dun la max the settings... battery life is really good. but i think the phone is more for people who wanna use the phone for long hours and durable -- like senior citizens, kids, delivery folks (grab, lalamove) and even hawkers... saw many hawkers using the X9B.

in case you're wondering, i was one of the few selected to be the phone's experiencer. so i do have the phone with me and have been using it for the last few weeks.

seems HONOR Malaysia had a durability test session with the media recently...

i only get to test the product. but not informed of the pricing...

but iinm, pricing and launch in MY should be sometime this week.

generally, should be similar to last year's model at launch. similar, not necessary same.

i think RAM size already announced/ teased.

partly coz Qualcomm didn't really release any updates for SD6... there's a SD6S... but it's minor.

still, i could feel some diff between X9B and this X9C. i guess due to the increase in RAM.

worth it or not, very much depends on individual.

processor isn't the greatest and latest, but it's decent enough. i can play Mobile Legends on it. GI and Honkai... on lower settings is OK.

where the phone shines is the durability and battery life. can withstand drops and smashes. but this does not mean it cannot break. but iinm, HONOR giving like 1 year screen replacement and also back replacement.

battery wise, average use and gaming... can likely last more than a day... but we all charge at the end of the day anyway.

only thing I noticed... you cannot use 3.5mm to USB-C dongle. i have a 3.5mm earphone (old Mi Piston which I love). tried connecting it to the dongle and then to Type-C and got error saying nor supported. seems you need those earphone/ headset that is fully digital (or sth like that, dunno how to explain). but i think if using wireless or those earphones with USB-C, then should not be an issue.

7years old. almost any phone will be a good replacement.

mate is considered high end phone though. more towards the Magic series.

i will tell you upfront... the camera is not X9C selling point. it's decent, but not overly impressive. but at least got the AI eraser.

if want good camera, can try HONOR 200. that one has better camera quality.

battery is good. i dun get battery anxiety with this phone.

as for SP, none at the moment -- i removed the one that came with the phone (good quality) for testing. anyway, you can get a free replacement from HONOR Service Center on Service Day which is once a month. but need time for them to stock up. when i tried in Jan 2025, they said still no supply for X9c.

yeah, most phones come with SP these days. not just HONOR phones.

and yeah, specially for HONOR, you can get a free replacement during Service Day. and yes, you can claim one every month since they have a service day every month. but they Service Center staff will apply it for you.

he was a bit misleading. on quite a few phones, it's under dev settings where you force apps that dun have Dark mode to also go Dark mode.

not strange la... if anything, your weird requirement for shopee dark is the stranger one... lolz..

maybe consider using eBook mode... lolz.. then all black and white. very good for your eyes.

i actually use the bedtime mode before sleeping... and when i am reading stuff on the phone at night..

for me, i'd go with X9c -- one is SD 6 and the other is SD 4
