Hi,

Does anyone know how to get Synology NAS working with Maxis fiber? I just found out today at work that I can no longer access files for work - either through quickconnect or taiilscale.

I am still using the same TP link AX73 router and not the maxis router and only changed the ISP login details.

Thanks.

Maxis announced that they implemented private ip address for their customers. You can get public ip for an extra charge i believe around rm10.

One-off payment?

if you don't pay for public IP on maxis fiber, enable quickconnect relay service
this will relay your connection through synology's server, speed might be impacted

My maxis line upload is 50mbs only-will this be an issue?

Where/how to get the address? I tried the wa chat, no luck.

I have checked both wired and wireless cctv.
The wired one not working.

The wireless one is working.

Maybe I just put a wifi dongle at the NAS?

But still the wired is not working

Call customer service saying you need public ip for CCTV etc reason

Most wireless CCTV nowadays have their own dns service without need public ip because mostly have their own app and you only need to login to view while outside

I remember nas also have their own dns service as long you subscribe their service if i remember they also have their own app

I have the app-but the configuration is not working. Hence also why I opted to use my current router and not Maxis own router.

Will play around with router settings at home. if does not work, then will call maxis.

Found out the FAQ:

your upload speed is fine, the speed problem is because your connection is being proxied through synology server if you enable relay service
tailscale is supposed to work with cgnat, is it working for you?
if it does, then maybe just need some reconfiguration on networking side

did not work on current settings-have not check the cgnat

After the maxis easy setup, I tried finding my NAS and CCTV at home, I see the devices connected to the router:

user posted image

but I cannot find it in the client list in TP link website.. I also cannot find it on my LAN network (windows explorer). It is like the devices just vanished after being detected at the port. Any ideas?

Update: Settle problem. Need to set quicksetup from maxis1 to custom, since kebetulan my NAS is LAN1 CCTV LAN4. Default setting LAN1 is IPTV, LAN4 is VOIP.

Now only the CCTV left for outside connection. Hopefully don't need to pay RM10/month. If I can setup it wireless connection, better

RM10 for public IP is consider okay alrd or wut, even on lower plans  nod.gif  why not?
Unlike unifi when they limit public IP to their higher speed customers.

The RM10 part is fine with me. Though I'm still figuring out a permanent solution rather than IP port. Can I just hook the CCTV DVR to wifi and call it a day? I have few wireless CCTV and that remains ok, even changing provider-since retain same router.
