It starts with 16gb ram and 512gb storage for base model at RM6,999 but with M4 chip only

i am referring to the M4 Max if not mistaken

pro model without pro chip
should make it as macbook only

ya, thought MacBook Pro either comes with Pro or Max chip only.

it has m4, m4 pro and m4 pro as options.

I mean I MacBook Pro series used to be on M pro and M max chips only.

dun get what u mean... macbook pro all the while is having is having 3 variants mx chip, mx pro chip as off-the shelf models, while mx pro max chip one is a customisable add-on...

this year the m4 chips macbook pro are really on high CP value...

performance improved in m4 chip + 16gb starting ram but at the same price (USD).

I hope the new model will arrive in Malaysia soon. Last time for m3, how long was it?

Tempted to trade in my M2pro although there doesn’t seem to be much of an upgrade aside from the usual CPU and slight battery performance bump

How much does it worth for the trade in ?

Depends on your model, mine is around RM4.25k which is surprisingly close to US trade in pricing.
Australia's trade in price is really bad, near RM3k only.

Any updates on the availability?

Should be this friday, all m4 series was approved on sirim last week

Which model and specs that you plan to buy?

Base model 14" m4 pro should be enough I guess, 7.8k with K-12 discount
