Hey guys,

Not really sure if here is the best place to post regarding this, but I'm in a dilemma of putting all my router, switch, modem all that on either a wall shelf or like a network enclosure box.

The thing will be placed on wall. Wondering if anyone has it at their homes?

Seeking for advices and recommendations biggrin.gif Thank you!

I setup a wall shelf at my family's place. Only suitable if it you prioritise function over form. Shelf and brackets from MR.DIY.

Just find a good sturdy floor rack will do the job. Some magic with cable ties and wa lah.... tongue.gif

Usually for Home use, your main objectives will be the following :-

1. Ease of Access (in case you need to restart the routers or replace it).
2. Sufficient Air Flow.
3. Easy to monitor or make changes to the cabling.

Compared to Office use, a Server Rack (Wall or Floor type) is for the purposes of ensuring only authorized personnel have access to it. And to have a good cabling management and everything including server, UPS etc. in a single authorized access. That's why company usually have server room.

But for Home use, anywhere you put also doesn't matter, it can be in a single cabinet, rack or distributed around the house.

For myself, I just put everything on a simple steel rack inside a store room underneath the staircase... hahahaha....

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

I salvage some left over rack and bracket , so i don't need optional cooling since the rack very open and ventilator
