Why the details so vague alot of things not mentioned and its starting next year January very little planning time
2 months to announce who is selected

Its going to be a mess

ALOR GAJAH: The National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 will be implemented in stages from next January, says Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari.

He said that, for a start, the programme would be held at two military camps in Kuala Lumpur and Pahang before being expanded to 13 other camps nationwide once fully implemented in 2026.

For next year, the government has allocated RM50mil for us to start PLKN 3.0... according to the original plan, (we are supposed to start) in the middle of next year but there is a need for us to implement it earlier.

Starting early next year, we will have the first intake and we will focus on the two camps as the pioneer PLKN 3.0 project before implementing it on a bigger scale next June,” he told reporters at Hutan Percha here on Saturday (Oct 26).

He said this after officiating the handing over of the Melaka state-level 'Projek Jiwa Murni’, which was also attended by the Commander of the 3rd Division Maj-Gen Datuk Zahari Mohd Ariffin.

Adly said an estimated 500 participants would be chosen for the programme's January implementation and the number would be increased in the June intake.

Does this mean they only picking people who are studying? Full time workers not included? Or no? Singles? Married?
Best to pick those unemployed or freelancers like influencers. Salary people and biz owners have biz to manage or contract so should not be pick

But looks like its only for students in uni and college
He said the PLKN 3.0 would target participants aged 16 to 35 from among students in Form Four, Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers and students from institutions of higher learning.

Earlier, the Alor Gajah MP said that through 'Projek Jiwa Murni’, a total of 10 houses in Melaka belonging to the hardcore poor and Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) veterans groups were repaired between January and October with an allocation of RM138,500.

He said five of the houses were in the Alor Gajah parliamentary constituency and five others in the Tangga Batu constituency. - Bernama

Until age 35???

Why?

18 years old or 19 years old enough lah

In late December 2003, the names of 85,000 conscripts for the first National Service program was made public.

The government announced that these youths were randomly selected out of the roughly 450,000 youths born in 1986, through a computerised process.

Conscripts are 18 years of age and picked from a national database that includes all citizens registered with a Malaysian ID card, whether born locally or overseas. Conscripts were informed of their participation in the program by mail at the address listed on their identification card.

They are also able to check their status on the program's website, or by SMS. Lists of conscripts names and ID numbers are also published in major newspapers.

Malaysia to bring back national service - but just for 45 days.....

Unfortunately, this lucrative project will be implemented by whoever you vote for.

It was introduced by BN, reintroduced by PN and reimplemented by PH.

The age limit is not new as the

National Service Training Act passed in 2003

had already stipulated that trainees are to be between the ages of 16 and 35.

Malaysia to bring back national service - but just for 45 days.

Our national service is not like South Korea and Singapore.

In Malaysia, PLKN lasts for 3 months, while in Singapore and South Korea, military service is 2 years.

PLKN also involves females, whereas Singapore and South Korea do not include females.

Sg have enlistment act...Malaysia do not have....

PLKN was introduced in December 2003 as a three-month long training period comprising physical, patriotism, character building, and community service modules. About 85,000 to 95,000 randomly selected participants joined, with an annual cost of about RM600 million.

It ceased in 2015 before resuming in 2016 as PLKN 2.0, with around 20,000 trainees per year and was scrapped in August 2018

Just model it after singapore NS or south korea conscription je la.
I know this program is basically useless compared to the example mentioned above that it likely won't matter anyway for employment and education, but further half assed inclusion criteria like this is just a sign of bad policy.
