Quite many good offerings from few Chinese Brands ever since 2023, which one do you think is the best car ? Just a random chatroom here biggrin.gif

- Cherry : Omoda / Tiggo 7 / Tiggo 8
- Jaecool : J7 / C9 soon to be available
- GMW : Haval H6 / Tank 300
- MG : MG5
- GAC : GS3 Emzoom
- BAIC : X55 / BJ40 Plus (nvr seen one)

- Proton Geely : S70, X50-90

I tend to think that the Haval H6 hybrid is the best among all these wink.gif

I want to see more proper c segment Chinese sedan here. Wonder why so hard for them to bring it here.

S70 is not a true c segment. It is B+. The interior so cramp.

If price is not an issue, i believe Tank 300 is the best in the lot for 4x4/SUV

You should try Tank 300. In China, this is the best rugged offroad capable SUV compare to the Jaecoo. If not because of the 250k price tag, i believe most will choose Tank over Jaecoo.

Haval H6 without spare tyre is no good IMO...
I would rather go for J7 PHEV for hybrid option.

What's H6 battery capacity not shown in their official spec ? Or they are designed as BEV for intermittent internal charging and no external charging?

J7 PHEV is 18.5kWh which is equivalent to approx 106kM ...

Well, I think there is no chance for us to think about Chinese PHEV here, for BYD Seal Lion or J7 PHEV.

PHEVs are more expensive to make than a ICE car or normal hybrid, yet it does not get the import duty waiver for EVs up to 2025, or tax waiver for CKD EVs from 2026 onwards. Which mean it will be sold at a price say RM30k more expensive than their ICE / EV counterpart.

Would you imagine a J7 PHEV going for RM180k ? Or a BYD Seal Lion PHEV going for RM220k ? No taker for it la.

Tank300 going for RM250k is quite an exception because of the niche market segment it is going after.

edited : haha J7 PHEV just launched, indicative pricing RM170-180k biggrin.gif
