Even if they are slacking, at least they turn up for work. They don’t mc 30 days a year or used up annual leave in two months and go unpaid 20 days a year. Minimum wage of RM1.7K also applies to foreign, workers

QUOTE(anudora @ Oct 19 2024, 11:01 PM) Of course apply to foreigner also. Do these foreign workers paying income tax especially their gross salary reaching MYR5k?Else all employ foreigner only. You think government so stupid donno what game the employers want to play. Foreign workers can earn a lot with long hours of OT and allowances. |

Employing foreign workers is more expensive than hiring locals, especially from sabah n sarawak. There are a lot of incidental costs, hostels, utility, working permits, medical check up and others. |

Why you guys so mad at minimum wage workers, 1.7k in KL can barely survive la
Another thing company that hire this minimum wage workers make millions dollar profit.. then rather pay their CEOs and board director millions of dollars bonuses while their workers can barely put food on the table. That's is modern slavery. They can always pay their workers but choose not to do so. |

QUOTE(pokemon @ Oct 19 2024, 11:06 PM) Employing foreign workers is more expensive than hiring locals, especially from sabah n sarawak. In mamak, each staff generates 13-15k income per month. Paying them 2k + permit and accommodation still earning money for boss. That additional 1k cost per month is still worth it. There are a lot of incidental costs, hostels, utility, working permits, medical check up and others. Hiring local that works half a month means losing half of the 15k income already. Saving the little money doesn’t make up the extra earnings loss and the headache you have to deal with. vapormax liked this post

Force companies to be more efficient. Last time hire 10 workers for plantation…now use drones, harvesters and more. Baru boleh Maju.

QUOTE(Rusty Nail @ Oct 19 2024, 08:52 PM) This is a silly policies to start with. Politicians thought of easy solution by increasing wage. This indirectly raise the inflation and also cause some of the companies to hire less worker. Also companies will be more KL centric The company will choose the better infrastructure of road, mrt and telecom signal area. since the implementation of minimum salary is same across all state. Why brother to invest in Sabah or Kelantan? |

That's is modern slavery. They can always pay their workers but choose not to do so. If hired a worker 1.7k same in KL and Kelantan, you will prefer KL due to connectivity, more population, also people in Kl have more purchasing power. So what will happen in rural area like kelantan or Sabah? Their youngster will end up finding work in KL Great example is look at south korea economy after they implemented min wage. https://www.kedglobal.com/economy/newsView/ked202407120017 |

Sabah is different case, project ic 1.0 during pm 4 and project ic 2.0 during pm 7 already giving out almost million number. Pm4 and pm7 are the same person by the way, no surprises why he did it There are a lot of incidental costs, hostels, utility, working permits, medical check up and others. Foreign worker in project ic already consider as local |
