Basically wanted to port out of their home fibre line and change so they called me with an offer which is to keep my line but I pay less cause they are offering a rebate for 1 year (no contract according to them)

Lo and behold the new month comes and its an upgraded plan with even higher cost to pay than current existing plan lol.

Wonder if anyone else had this happen to them? How are they even allowed to run their business like that.

did you save down the black and white mentioning the rebate for 1 year? Make an official complaint through their helpline with the evidence.

Maybe their system have not perform adjustment for your current account.

Recently I was offered to switch from Allo to CelcomDIGI. The new contract would be cheaper. But for the 1st 2 months you will have to pay the original price, the discounted price only kicks in on the 3rd month.

Did you ask them if the rebate applies for 12 months or will only start on the 3rd month?

I did. It's after the current month already. And then right at the time they say rebate kicks in I got the higher bill

Thing is, I asked for black and white in email for the offer. They said they don't have it and that they are legit and not a scam (they could read out all my details and the port out details) so it was all done via call. I guess I was dumb to trust them smile.gif called celcom and they submitted a ticket been over 4 days and 0 response. Think I'll just MCMC report

Yeah, MCMC complain best course of action for now. Glad I didn't sign up for the CelcomDIGI upgrade. Dodged a bullet there.

For sure. Not to mention the super slow internet during the whole time + the amount of pain trying to port out doh.gif I hope anyone who comes across this thread will avoid them at all cost. Learn from my pain of dealing with them

I had enough with 2 years... every week received downtime messages, sometimes down sometimes no problem. On weekend, youtube buffering really bad, but so do Maxis FTTH (live telecast, not those normal videos which was cached). Bein could not even run for Sunday race.

Even though UM gave me a lemon router, the price I had to pay plus the much better streaming experience, I have no regrets going with 5G compared to fiber.

probably it is more of luck i guess... so far most are having ok experience with unifi i would say. u go into the unifi thread u will know..

this is also the reason why i will never recommend telco fibres beyond unifi, becos they are using unfi infra anyway, if it is bad, those telcos that are using its infra can never be better..

i have moved house and now using time fibre, the only choice and no unifi as an option. likely it is not too bad overall... used for almost 11 months now... so far so good.

price wise, i opt for 500Mbps plan and now free upgraded to 600Mbps. I signed up and got 6 months free at the start, so effectively very close price to the current 200Mbps plan average for 2 years period..

after contract is over, i will opt for 200Mbps (no contract) option instead. tongue.gif

Well, true... the only downside of using maxis or celcomdigi fiber broadband is when the fault is external, they need to schedule an appointment with unifi technician then only they can come over and fix it.

exactly, since it is the same thing, why go thru the hassle to sign up with maxis or celcomdigi. tongue.gif dealing with one bad ISP is already painful not to mention two at the same time... tongue.gif

importantly, price wise, maxis and celcomdigi their packages have no advantage at all when compared to unifi even...

I have never use CelcomDigi fibre before thus unable to comment much about their package or services.

I've been using Unifi (Home) and of course there will be downtime and luckily very rare. So far their services is an a OK to me.

As for Maxis Fibre, the router provided usually comes with a 4G SIM card thus you will have a continuous internet connection during any downtime of the fibre cable.
Any downtime with Maxis will be a kicking the ball around, thus the hassles but Business package seldom have this issues... occasionally lar...

The best package and services was TIME, their engineer is tip top skills and very experienced too.
Very rare there is any downtime, even if it happens the recovery was very fast like 1-2hrs only.

I can't comment on 5G because my area still haven't got any 5G coverage albeit seeing new 5G tower here and there.

If you feel that you are being tricked into signing up or extending/upgrade package, always go to the nearest office/branch and make an official complaint with them. Calling them is useless.
Threaten them with a MCMC complaint if it was not resolved, sometimes these callers are AGENTs thus they just want the commissions if you upgrade the packages.

Good luck on your adventures... cool2.gif
