QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jul 26 2009, 10:15 AM) Ooo...new firmware, any difference? Wanted to register online... but the Panasonic eWarranty link bit faulty.Looks like you got a good deal but did you get the e-voucher & register for the FREE extended warranty? Not able to access that site yet. Still got 1 week for the promo to register though. Hope can settle before end of week. But nothing much to buy with the evoucher other than battery or another SDHC card. Added on July 27, 2009, 3:50 pmAs for the firmware.. not sure how to compare with 1.0 The notes just mentioned that it will have backward compatibility to some files taken with older Lumix camera to allow playback. Panasonic SDHC Class 4 highest is 12GB and that cost RM299. Kingston is much cheaper. I believe its still a good deal with RM150 extra from base unit price for a bigger SDHC card.
Added on July 30, 2009, 11:46 amHOw is the experience with TZ7 battery? I got myself like 15mins video and 100 plus photos spread over 2 days of usage. There was some comments that using some non Pany SDHC card could lead to even faster battery drainage. This post has been edited by jays_on: Jul 30 2009, 11:46 AM |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Jul 30 2009, 03:53 PM) Is that with flash or not? Anyway I'll be getting additional battery as currently one is not enough to last a day especially when on vacation. Heard that there are HDD which direct back up. Not sure how it work with Lumix cameras especially the AVCHD file without the Funstudio software. Thanks for the heads up! Its with minimum flash. Maybe like twice of the 100 pics. Definitely need a 2nd battery. The SDHC is sufficient if recording in AVCHD for holiday. BTW guys, what or how to store your stuff from SDHC into a HDD without a PC or a laptop. I don't want to lug a laptop around on holiday. |

TZ7 night shooting aint that good as well.
And the noise is pretty bad on ISO400 above. For night shooting, LX3 would be the best bet. |

Cant win all, the zoom for TZ7 makes it so usefull.
By the way how to set the exposure for TZ7, there seems to be like some restriction. Is this done on the manual (camera logo) mode? Or base on scene setting? I actually prefer photos without flash and to get high Dynamic range photos. Added on August 13, 2009, 4:37 pmAnd do u mean setting exposure as in the shutter time? I was looking for some aperture control for exposure. This post has been edited by jays_on: Aug 13 2009, 04:37 PM |

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 13 2009, 07:22 PM) Press the up cursor button once for exposure or twice for auto bracketing. thanks.. GOT ITPlay with the left & right cursor for the individual values. Though very limited. Exposure setting and Auto Bracketing are better explained on page 47 of the manual. Added on August 13, 2009, 7:23 pmProblem is movie maker. |

QUOTE(AskarPerang @ Aug 24 2009, 12:31 AM) Thanks for the feedback. Asking here is better than asking at the pinned thread as people there only entertains pro DSLR camera. Its a great PNS to bring around for versatility. Not really into taking videos, just want the best PnS compact camera for a beginner like me. Should have bought the camera when the RM150 e-voucher promotion. Now kinda regret not buying the camera. Even though it had its weakpoint like not that great in low light.. believe other PNS face the same problem. There is a reason why the price didnt drop much... its a hot camera. So what did u get as freebies for RM1350? If u read the thread , I got my TZ7 at about the same price during the RM150 evoucher promo and got my 2nd battery to address the power drain for HD movie recording. |

For lowlight (like those moody cafe) food shot , TZ7 sure will fire flash.. and it looks washed.
So unless its a well lited area, TZ7 don't do so well on food shot. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 10 2009, 11:28 PM) Definitely, TZ7 is ok for night shots..like other camera. Just that after seeing LX3.. that sort of set the standards for nite shots ahahaha. Meaning nite shot is not TZ7 strength ... unlike the great zoom and HD recording. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Sep 15 2009, 07:57 PM) Actually, I bought both TZ7 and LX3 from iamsobloodysick. I took the TZ7 and my relative took the LX3. Now he regretted his choice not because of the LX3 picture quality and manual control flexibility.....it was because of the mere 2.5x zoom. He bought the tele lens to overcome the shortfall but it leads him to another new problem....cumbersome ans awkward. Exactly. Which was why I bought the TZ7 over the LX3. I favor the zoom more than the great nite shots. |
