I bought the Panasonic DMC-FS6 for my parents because it's very easy to use. Got it for RM588 (free 4GB SDHC + mini tripod + Lumix pouch) at a camera shop in Summit USJ called Bintang Maju (near the stage). Much cheaper than the Harvey Norman promotion.

Here are some sample shots from the DMC-FS6

Swatchboy, I didn't ask about the TZ series. Anyway..since this Bintang Maju is already offering the FS6 at nearly RM100 cheaper than Harvey Norman's promo...I would say maybe the TZ series also might be cheaper.

This Bintang Maju camera shop is in Summit USJ, ground floor. It's near the stage (got Fuji Film signage).

First time I charge it for 8 hours. Later I check the manual it says one hour plus only.  doh.gif
These days I let it charge for about 1hr to 1 hr 20 minutes.
Without flash I get about 100++.
With a spare battery it should be ok for travelling.

Isn't that the motor & gears adjusting the lens? The noise should not be that noticeable. In a very quite room, only I realised it is there. It is difficult to ascertain how loud is loud. Best way is to go to the Panasonic shop and test a new one out. But take note of the other noise of the shopping complex. At worse take your unit to Panasonic and have them check it out.
BTW did you drop it?
*
em...i hope is the motor & gears adjusting the lens...coz the sound only can be heard for sumtimes...the sound is like during the transformer is transferring...i never drop it...I've been use it for quite few month adi, only yesterday i heard the noise there tat y i started to get confused and woli...better i ask here before i bring to panasonic lo...
