TEMERLOH: Pahang PAS has vowed to shut down all gambling establishments, including the Genting Highlands casino, should the party succeed in capturing the state in the 16th general election (GE16).









However, the state chapter’s deputy commissioner, Andansura Rabu (who is also the N12 Beserah assemblyman in Pahang), said that any decision must comply with the relevant legal framework and is limited to the state government’s authority on the matter.



In the Saturday,19 November 2022 Pahang state election, no single party or coalition won an outright majority in the 42-seat Pahang State Assembly.

After negotiations, UMNO (BN) and PKR & DAP (PH) decided to form a coalition government in Pahang.

This was similar to the national-level cooperation between BN and PH after the 2022 Malaysian general election.

Pakatan Harapan (PH) agreed to support Barisan Nasional (BN) to form the government.

With PH’s 8 seats, BN (17) and PH (8) had a combined total of 25 seats, which is a majority in the 42-seat assembly

—more than 50 percent, as a majority requires at least 22 seats.

(Note: A majority in a 42-seat assembly is actually 22 seats, not 21 )

Genting skyway is more enjoyable, the track is longer and the ravine is deep, but you won't get the KL view.

Was at Genting last year, very confusing trying to get to casino. Maybe I am bad at navigating noisy locations. Too much loud noise...I am too old for this. But my budget for paving road also very low.... thinking back, who ami I? What am I doing here?

Took the cable car... The queue is like trying to get out of Gaza to Egypt.....

I remember there are a genting clinic beside cable car entrance.

Isn't Genting Highlands usually more crowded than Cameron Highlands from 1969 until now?


The resort opened in 1969, but the first hotel, the Highlands Hotel, did not open until two years later in 1971.
