Hi, I am replacing my recent spoilt Dell S2722DGM which is a 27" 1440p VA panel,165Hz monitor. I have a desk of 140 cm x 70 cm. I have been using the 27" for a few years and find it quite comfortable and a good fit. Now that I am buying a new one. Considering to upgrade to 32" but having a concern that will the 32" too big and will fell tired on the eyes easily for my setup? I usually sit around 2ft away. But can still maximize the space to 2.5 ft away. I use it mainly for web browsing, light work, movie and mainly gaming.

Did some research and currently eyeing on the new LG monitor. Also planning to upgrade my graphic card from GTX1660S to RTX 4060Ti in a few months.

I'm using 32" curved Dells at home (2k gaming) and office (4k)

~3 feet away is ideal, no issues

Hi, do you use it with the stand or arm ? with the bigger screen do you need to constantly like moving your head around when looking ?

At office, using the arm

At home using stand

If ~3 feet distance, eyes definitely need to move, head movement is minimum

For watching movies, it's not too big. For gaming, it's a bit too big

Ok, but what about the text? like when browsing the internet and using Microsoft word and excel. Is it clear and do you use it on 100% size ?

For gaming by too big, how does it feels? Is it a bit dizzy ?

Why is this even a concern? You can make it whatever size that is comfortable for your use ...

I see, I usually use on 125% on my previous 27", just concern if 32" with 2K will it be not so clear. But I guess it should be fine.

You'll be fine at 125% on 2k

32 inch monitor may be a bit large to you based on your desk size. But you will get used to it eventually. My desk is 120cm x 60cm, and I enjoy my 32inch monitor.

But one advice. If you decide to switch to 32 inch, go for 4K. You will thank me later.

If you insist to stick to 1440p , then you better stay at 27 inch.

Golden rules for monitor:

24 inch = 1080p
27 inch = 2k
32 inch = 4k


125% on 32" is definitely more blur compared to 27".

Use arm, if feel too big when gaming then move it further behind.

Thanks for sharing your experience, will see my budget and consider the 32" 2K. It seems quite a bargain on the price for 32' 2K.

I thought LYN forumers are mostly gen-x... by now should have Presbyopia by now.

Im actually liking 1080P on 32inch and I had to scale 175% on my brand new 27" on 1440P.

Mainly gaming 27 1440p.
32 make you tired and 4060ti cannot take 4k.
For FSP you need latency speed. 32 on 4060ti does not cut it.
Special tips for you.Use Maxis fiber. If you use unfi for gaming you will not understand how powerful is high end pc.

What about 4070? it's still best for 2K right ?

Just bought a Philips for RM479. It is a VA panel though which may suck for gaming (even though it is rated at 100Hz, but the black smearing could be a problem) but Im using it for work only.

If you are using a TV, then should use 4k TV then set scaling to 300%. Really sharp on my 65inch.

yeah, i planned to when it's about to spoiled, probably a 50" 4k TV that's above 60hz.

It's still working fine now, no reason to switch yet

actually, for most ppl 4k is an upgrade, for me its weighing differently.

Con's
- Netflix plan needed an upgrade
- PC gaming will require a better GPU (Else it looks worse 1080p on 4k?)
- More bandwidth needed for video streaming (YouTube)
- Tiny text work documents or internet browsing (not sure scaling could go back to the comfortable range)

Pro's
- Looks sharp & prettier (browsing & gaming)
- More desktop workspace

2k easy for 4070

OP did you end up getting the 32" monitor ?

I'm also looking to upgrade from 24" (Dell Ultrasharp 2413), bought in 2013. Still working like normal but planing to get a new desktop as well so why not.

Is 24" considered small nowadays ? or still good for work and light gaming ?

Even 27" is too small already

Now i hunting 32" 4k @ 180hz and above after receiving the RTX 5070 TI at just RM3750
