Maybe this had been discussed. If this is the case please guide me to the right place.

I am now looking to buy both the NDSL and PSP Slim & Lite in Penang. I had asked a few shops in Tesco Penang and Bukit Jambul (BJ) Complex. The price they offer me is not very pretty compare to what I saw here. (Eg: Rm980 for PSP Slim & Lite (4gb) and RM780 for NDSL (1gb) with everything in it). My budget is less than RM1500. Any good recommendation?

I ask in Komtar. RM890 for 4gb+screen protector+usb cable..

And Ace is selliing rm8xx for 4gb too. but i forgot the package

You can check out Prangin mall. Prangin Mall got Ace also which i think the boss name is Ah Hin.

And there's Marionet and Gamemaster which is same as BJ but might sell cheaper since the competition is fiercer in that place...

On the contrary, the shop on the ground floor in BJ sells at about Rm1000 for PSP lite and RM800 for the NDSL whole package. Also, they are reluctant to give me warranty for more than 1 month. Guess that's out of question for now.

i think you guys always forget the most important thing- SERVICE!
so what if you can get cheap psp/ds lite- but when you have problems, you better pray the shop gives you great service in accepting returns/warranty/questions

how to get good service if the shop is 400km away?

just buy from the place u most comfortable. especially modded console. there's no warranty most of the time

ACE Electronics is 1 year service free but part need to charge.

Marionet is 2 months free everything warranty.

Recommended to Smart choice (SCE) better service provided and they can do delivery to whole malaysia. goodluck!

I know it is a good shop. However, sometimes we just need to directly "touch & check" the console. Sorry if I sound skeptical but I had been cheated too many times to easily trust people on these things.

u can try to survey around megamall prai or somewhere in bukit mertajam. But the price a bit higher than lyn's offered here, 100-200 ringgit more expensive + poor service and not really friendly to their costumer.

u can find cheap psp slim and ndsl at bulk page....
but since u live in penang , u can only do postage...

Agree,especially the game shop at megamall prai expensiver than other game shop.

haha.. what to do.. it's the way it is.. huhu... hopefully LYN's SCE or bernard could open a shop here in penang.. beat all those crazy price.. i think penang cost of living and shop rent is much lower than kl.. maybe all stock they got from kl.. but if that so.. still not reasonable.. example for x360... rm200 higher than kl. if say transportation cost, do they bring only 1 console at 1 time from kl? crazy laaa..

and some shop they know that they are the only one that can do the service..then they charge u a really high price..after all they can say.. go survey other shop lah.. (they already know they the only one can do..)

One conclusion, low demand, high price

order my PS3 console from bernerd, now look like hv to order games from KL as well since penang is very hard to get the games... soon or later penang game shop hv to close shop if keep buying from KL...

for TS, unfortunately there's no good gaming shops in penang, all are sharks waiting for their victims

last time i asked the ps3 price for 60GB package at a shop in the carrefour seberang jaya.. n i shocked that the seller said RM2800 without any games... huhuhuh

I can say that shop offer cheapest price in penang. And good service too.

The boss pro in repairing consoles too.

hahaha. in penang,yes.but if in whole malaysia.. i think kl ppl would be amazed how high it is. hahaha...the boss cant kawtim at all and a bit ego eventhough i bought console from them.but the staff did a good job for me.

I bought my R4 without the MicroSD from them for RM190 non negotiable price. I even asked for only a RM5 discount, but he wouldn't give in. I wouldn't say they're the cheapest, but they are considered reasonable in the Penang state.

If you deal with the boss himself. you will get discounted price.

Will have to say that the boss really got good knowledge and better service compared to other shops like Gxxx Mxxxxx, Mxxxx Exxxxxxx. You know this is penang and hard to find a good game shop.

I dealt with the boss himself. Didn't wanna give any discount. But at least the took the courtesy to demonstrate on how to install the system files onto the MicroSD, change themes, engage the soft reset and operate the moonshell program.

Anywayz, anything regarding console prices in Penang, they're mostly all expensive....

yes..i also deal with the boss himself. he dont want to give any discount at all.. he said sorry. go to other shop if u can find lower price.almost 20 minutes of waiting and try to persuade him to give me discount..but fail even i show him receipt that i bought rm2k console from him..

Hey, how about the Games Tower in Prangin Mall? You know, the small small shop beside Parkson first floor? I accompany my friend there and although he get the Nintendo DS list for RM50 more expensive price compare to KL , but at least the boss is good and the service is OK.

just now went to QueesbayMall, one shop selling PS3 80Gb at RM2k with 2 controller and no games, they said the controller is DS3 one..., damn expensive..... 40Gb not available... so outdated...

this is new open shop & the price can match or even cheaper to p.mall ace game shop..
try pay a visit & bargain your price...

Yeah, its (Game Tech) operated by 2 young guys. It's nice to see young people are trying to make a living on the right way. Anyway, I ask the price for PSP and they can consider the cheapest in PG. Also, I like that they show a lot of products outside. I think I will buy the PSP from them very soon.

As for the ACE. Yeah it's a good shop. The boss even offer to take a look at my PS2 when I complain about games cannot be loaded. I heard that people complaining about service no good. Well, maybe the shop-keep just don't treat his job very nicely. One thing is though, they never bargain.

Hah....finally I can see the PG gaming industry is started to flourish. It's slow, but we are getting there. Maybe I wanted to try to join the industry too....anybody interested?

PSP at ACE is RM880 with 4GB, one case,one ear phone, USB cable, screen protector. My fren just bought.
Choose your own game to fill up full the 4gb memory stick.
The Game Tech i got pass by, never ask the price thought, maybe who went there can update the price to compare? since in penang also..

PS3 in ACE i think is RM1900 with 2 controller, no games.. last month ask one.
end up buy at GAMES TOWER. since that day ACE boss not free. his fren serve me, very lansi.. dun wan buy.. asking for EOJ, then say need order lo.. need to wait lo. sien.. then ask for 40gb, say no come yet, next week gua, not enough la, 80GB better. many reason..
but still i recommend ppl buy psp at there. for me price is ok..

And, to answer your question, the package means that the "set" of things included when you buy the console (the controller, games, cables) etc. The shop in KL they can just post it to us people in Penang for a quite reasonable price. I guess that most of us just want to "touch" and "feel" the consoles immediately after we pay the money.

regarding the pc lcd monitor,yes u need a speaker.any computer speaker will do.just buy the converter.

what i know,
summit bkt mertajam got 2. both 1.6k (but need to order.no ready stock at the time i asked)
megamall prai got 3 shop. also very expensive.i think 1.6-1.8k
prangin mall got 2-3 shop. dunno bout them.
komtar also got 1.but it's the branches of ACE.
chai leng park got 1.
carrefour got 1.dunno sell or not.but they sell game.

I have been searching penang all around for ocnsole prices.
I believe that there is actually no good shops in Penang,probably all consoles are overpriced compared to KL.
It does not matter if you are rich,however.

Cash on delivery-You have got to pay only when the item is delivered to you.But i think we won't have chance to check the product before we pay right?But i believe the resellers here since they have got a really good reputation.
If the console has got problem and must be sent back for them to have a check or repair,i think we can contact them and post it to them,need not to go KL just to get there. And when they have done the repairs,they could jst deliver it back to you,good service is the most important thing in transaction.So far i have not seen good game shops in Penang and everytime i ask for the price,it is just unreasonably high.

Yes. Penang's Shop all offer quite high of price. I tried to ask few shop around prangin mall and komtar area. This is what i get for PS3 40G package and Xbox360.

Komtar - Beside ACE got one Beyond Electronics which my fren recommended to me. The PS3 40G package with 1 DS3 = 1420 which consider reasonable price and XBOX 360 (Modded, 1 Wired and 1 Wireless Controller + 20 Ahem Games) = 1650.

Prangin Mall - ACE PS3 40G with 1 Six Axis = 1450, Gamer Towers offer quite good price which is 40G package with 1 Six Axis Controller + 2 Games = 1699

BJ - Mario Electronics selling PS3 40G (1 x Six Axis) + 1 Game = 1600 but if purchase in package DS3 only 160.

One Stop - Next to CCTV Solution shop (dont know what's the shop name) selling 40G package = 1600 with nothing else.---> So consider OUT for me!

Erm, my friend has a shop in one-stop, level 3. Give it a try. He stocks up games too. Very few shops in Penang dares to stock up games.

No offence. However, how much you need to spend on the travel?

1) Ok, let say by Air Asia, the cheapest one is RM80 return (with tax). Then, you might need your friend to pick you up / take the train / taxi / buses. No matter which option you picked you still need to spend at least RM20 (Friend option - one meal to him/her as they fetch you from LCCT) Then, you might need to spend a day in KL (around RM100 - RM300) or with friends/families (again, need to "thank" them). Finally, you would need about 2 - 3 meals. Adding up, you might need to pay extra RM400 - 500 just for the sake to go to get the consoles. Money to be spent ~ RM200 - 500

2) By bus - the safest one is RM72 return. I think this might be possible. However, if you want to come back to PG within the same day, you will be very tired. Money to be spent - ~ RM150 - RM200

3) By car - Toll, petrol, food, tiredness. No further elaboration required.

For me, I will still stick with the Penang shop, if it is not too expensive - by that I mean it's ok to marked up the price up to 10%. I need to re-iterate that I can touch and see and try the console I am going to buy. Also, when problem comes up, I can go fix it directly without any hassle like going to KL again or using delivery (which I don't have good faith in).

Megamall price i think by far the highest.

Will check around in Prangin since my friend recommend me a shop in prangin. Forget ask him what is the shop name but he told me its RM 880 for the same package and might be able to get it lower if he bargain with the boss. Maybe i'll ask him to help me buy later.

I got mine in Games Tower for RM800, but that was a long time ago (3 months ago). Now should be cheaper with whole package.

You can try go Prangin and BJ to take a look at the shops. They are more pro now compare to last time.

plus i think 2 month warranty marionate offer me is very very rare indeed. 1 month extension is a huge difference..

Where is this Games Tower ?

It is in Prangin Mall, the floor above Watson. After you reach the floor via escalator, you will see Parkson in front of you, then, turn right. The shop will be on your right hand side (about 2-3 shops down). It is a small shop, but nevertheless a decent one. If not mistaken, the boss gave more than 1 month warranty for my DS.

If u just want to purchase the console, i think gamer tower offer the best but if u thinking of after sales service. Komtar Mario should be the one cause they offer reasonable price and the technician very good in repairing console + friendly as well.

Will try and take a look at Komtar Mario package...after sales is important.

I think Game Tower dont know how to repair console one. If anything happen, they will send ur console to other ppl repair and somemore if anything happen within ur warranty period. They will say it's your problems like misuse, drop down or something like that to refuse any warranty claim. My fren kena once already

Komtar Mario offer reasonable price only but their technician's skill is good as well as the ACE's prangin mall also, they offer the price more expensive than Komtar Mario.

Anyone knows what Mario offers for PSP 4 GB package?

Well than Mario is the answer for me....will go there at the end of this month for PS3...

Of course I am serious... i asked 3 shops.. all gave me RM 850 on first enquiry. I think the price can be neg or perhaps i'll give them back the headphones or accecories that comes with it then perhaps hopefully they can lower the price.

Hoping when i have enough $$$, price will be slightly below RM 800

How should I put this ... I'd never buy a console from Mario again. They give good service (you can 'test' a game there) but when it comes to console let's just say that last time Tan (the owner or something) gave me 10 crap games with my PS2, I think I had to throw them all away. Ace don't let me 'test' a game but when I bought my brother a PS2, it had a stand and I can choose whichever 10 games that I want.

yes they're the same.komtar one is their old shop.

Thing is I've been his customer since I was like~ 13 years old (now I'm like 23 :|). I bought a PS2 from him in 2005 I think, maybe he wants to get rid of old stock so he gave me really crappy games like Gundam and sports title (I hate sports!) so yeah, that does it. If I want to get a new console I won't get it from him.

I also surveyed 360 at Ace and then his shop. Ace is selling a Pro 360 (2 free games, wireless controller, hdmi) for RM1680. Tan is selling a Core (including 20 gig HDD, wired controller, component, maybe 2 free games) for rm1650 I think. So Ace's offer sounds nicer.

... but Tan's shop is still the best shop to 'test' some games and the service is very friendly (coz he wants your money!). Speaking (typing) bout police there's a police station just 10 meters away from both Ace and Mario! ! This is Malaysia!

I don't know what deal they're having for PSP but if you value after sales service you should go to Mario. Not saying that Ace provide a sloppy service (I don't know if they did) but for some reason it's a kind of shop that you go to buy stuff and then leave without chatting with the workers.

... just that Mario proves that it can be cruel to near-a-decade customer like me. So my preference:
