from my experience, all 360 consoles you can find in Penang is modded.
in order to get un-modded, u need to order from the shop. normally the 360 u will get here in Singapore version since Microsoft never bother to sell it officially in Malaysia. warranty period wise u can check Microsoft Singapore website. to claim warranty its very troublesome, either u or the shop have to send it back to Singapore. |

i think the truth about Penang game shops (and likely in other states too) is that the experience that a buyer will get is really situational. depending on what you buy, what expectations you have, how many questions you ask, how genuine is your buying intention etc etc...
i feel that generally the customer service is ok, the difference lies mainly on the knowledge that the shops has. ACE is knowledgebale - but it also depends on who you ask. |

Anyone know shops in Penang still selling PS1 (new)?
I got 2 PS1 (1 fat 1 slim), but plan to buy 1 more as backup. Btw, penang folks, if you are interested in NTSC-J PS1 original games at an unbelievably cheap price, check out the Retro Gamers thread. |

i think there is only 1 game shop in Gurney plaza.
is a game master right (probably use some other name) lousy chain... console/access all over priced. buy game (ahem) ok la, cannot buyt other things from them. |

just to share some pricing I talked to Ah Hin (ACE) today
ps2 RM420 (console and 1 ori controller) ps2 RM520 (above plus 1 non ori controller, 1 non ori mem card, 30 games) if choose silver or while, add RM20, choose red add RM30. wii fit (game, board, and something i think to protect the board one) RM330. my intention was to get a spare ps2 so i din ask other consoles. |

Hey Alex ~ me too.
I don't usually ask the shops as most shops don't even know what are these things. The only place I would try would be Ah Hin and Mario Komtar (if the shop still there, as the uncle is knowledgeable). I normally get my old consoles from garage sale. |
