If you are lucky the records department will have a copy of the layout but I doubt they have it since it’s an old house … only nowadays they have a digital format copy ..plan is:

Yeap the best way is to hire architect or registered draftman to do measured drawings and incorporate the extension area for Buidling plan (BP approval )
Cost to remeasure depends on this situation
1) size of house
2) type of house ( terrace , semi-D, bunglow . Corner ? Intermediate ? End lot ?)
3) how big is the extension .. does it effect the overall house internal and external ? Or just simple carporch or just front or back extension only not effecting the internal centre of the unit space . See the complexity of your design extension .
