Hi, I plan to do so with Synology, and is currently looking for which CCTV camera to get (which brand & model) for my current renovating house.
I am actually considering Reolink IP POE Camera but I am not sure if it can be integrated with Synology.
I used before TAPO indoor camera but wonder will it look neat with the socket installed near the ceiling for this kind of wireless camera because the adapter will be seen.
Whereas if I go for Reolink / Hikvision IP POE camera, I might be able to hide the LAN cable underneath the CCTV base or maybe can make the LAN cable barely noticeable from far.
Could you kindly share some of your experiences why you stop using IP camera and also how is the overall integration work between ONVIF camera and Synology?
Thanks

IP cam is for newbie. The only benefit is easy to setup. Quality so so and lack of a lot of features.
I am using some mid-high range of cam, which able to capture opposite carplate at night. For me, i feel it defeat the purpose if the cctv cannot capture the image clear as it is same as it doesnt capture the image.
Lately, i also integrate the system into smart home and also AI detective that filter 85% of fake alarm.
The only downside is, you need to spend a lot. You need high cpu power to support high quality camera and synology free license support 2 cams only.
