With the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine, many International brands are currently being boycotted by Malaysians in solidarity with Palestine. A Malaysian content creator and social activist, however, recently revealed that he is done boycotting McDonald’s, and he’s back as a loyal customer.

In a viral TikTok post by @thaqibshaker, Thaqib pointed out that his return to the fast food chain as a customer is in no way a form of support towards Israel.

“Ask yourself, has the boycott ever worked in stopping the genocide?”

With a McDonald’s meal placed in front of him, Thaqib told everyone to reflect for a moment and think if the boycott movements had ever worked in putting an end to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, and who suffered the biggest consequences from all the boycott – the local employees.

ini baru tahun 2023. full year 2024 confirm lagi teruk.

tapi itu la nak cakap pekerja hilang kerja, susah nak cari kerja lain tu tak betul. employee turnover dalam F&B ni antara paling tinggi dalam negara. pekerja sentiasa berhenti & jumpa kerja lain.

kadar pengangguran pun turun kepada 3.3%, jumlah yang menganggur pun turun. jumlah yang bekerja meningkat 230 ribu orang daripada Oktober 2023 sampai Ogos 2024.

maknanya, yang hilang kerja bukanlah susah sangat nak cari kerja lain. data tak menyokong apa yang dia cakap.
