Make sure you're getting it from an authorized Apple dealer, otherwise you'll be screwed come warranty time.
I don't trust most of the retailers in LYP all that much |

Do all the Mac retailers charge extra if I pay by credit card?
The new prices sound very tempting.... maybe that 32" LCD TV can wait |

QUOTE(besaid @ Nov 13 2007, 12:13 PM) actually, what can a dedicated GPU do if gaming is not really essential?i dont like the idea of gaming on a laptop, dont even mention of macbook...just planning when should i get it.now that the rumours is getting strong, got a good reason to wait The GPU is used by Apple's Core Image eg. Final Cut, Motion, real time HD effects. The dedicated GPUs provide much better performance than the Intel integrated graphics. But ya, I will wait too if possible. January, the rumored date for the new subnotebook is not far off. However, expect the price to be a low end MBP price, it won't be Macbook level pricing. I would guess that it will start at the black Macbook price (US$1500) with lower specs, but significantly smaller/thinner. This post has been edited by tishaban: Nov 13 2007, 12:48 PM |

QUOTE(kunamiya @ Nov 15 2007, 01:55 PM) I've been using iMovie for years, since they first started it ~2000 and have been using it very extensively on my Intel Macs (Mini and Macbook) since last year. It's really not GPU intensive at all, it doesn't require much on the graphics side, it's a lot more intensive on the hard disk and CPU side. There's no lagging, don't worry be happy |

Apple has a page with battery tips. Google for it.
One good suggestion I've read elsewhere is to buy a laptop cooler for your desk when you have it plugged in. |
