Personally i find it easiest to use the piano to find chords,

cause it displays nicely to the melody you are playing on the right hand.

It’s easier to visualize the chords when playing piano/keyboard as your melody is played with right hand and you can see what notes you are playing. Compared to finding chords on guitar, singing your melody is harder to visualise as you can’t be sure what note you’re singing. Still doable but it’s harder, having music theory helps immensely tho.
