Hi all! So recently I had the chance to interview Tun Dr Mahathir on the topic of education and the Malay Dilemma, and I figured some of you might be interested given his historical role in Malaysia and thought to leave this here.

…And that’s the thumbnail! Happy to take any questions a little later as well if you guys have any curiosities or things you’d like to ask.

Also, here’s a 3 minute teaser if you’re interested to see what we chatted about.

And here’s the link if you just want to copy and paste.

For now, I’ll just say that this was an interesting look into history with a legit historical figure and all in all, a pretty insane experience.

Enjoy this chat!

Only Malays have dilemma but Kadazan, Iban, Singh, Chinese, Indian, Bajau no dilemma?

He could have unified the people with the Malaysian Dilemma.

But he chose for his children to become billionaires.

Hmm, I don’t know if he hates the Chinese really, but as you’ll see, he does think that the Malays won’t survive in a society that is entirely merit based. Also if he did hate the Chinese then he wouldn’t have supported Vincent Tan amongst others.

Also, I am Chinese and we have an ok relationship - which made this conversation a bit unconventional, since basically it’s a Chinese guy talking to him about historically discriminatory policies 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’d love to understand that in a ton more detail, and to figure out what we unambiguously know about those cases, but it's not for me to say what has happened or not happened on that front because that's not what we talked about and it's up to the government to decide what should be done in that case.

thanks for the interview.

we must "extract" as much as possible from this guy before he pass away and bring it all to the grave.

he is a walking library. he have witnessed british administration, japanese occupation, racial riot 69, and communist insurgencies. and still alive to tell the story with clear mind.

It’s an honor! Thank you for watching!

He really is - the sheer number of things he must have seen is mind boggling 😅

Well, I don’t know if that’s the case generally. It seems that that’s a self-defeating argument since if he were to like a Chinese person then you would just identify them as a ‘crony’ regardless of whatever happens…

Thanks for recording this interview. Will definitely watch this. Last I saw an interview with Tun M is with Keluar Sekejap by KJ and Shahril, but I've not watch the whole episode.
