I am wondering how can we only have 250k in EPF only if we work since 26 and retire in 60 at minimum salary 1500 across the 35 years with 5.5% dividend. Based on calculation the EPF saving should be RM450k at least.
We certain won't stay at min salary forever, lets take a more reality example. If our salary on 26-35yo RM1500, 36-45yo RM2500 and 46-60yo RM3500, the total EPF saving will be at least RM680k, more than double of the EPF recommendation and yet this calculation is based on B40 income. If calculate based on M40 the EPF saving will certainly more than RM 1m.
Why still many people not getting this saving after retirement. It is because many people stop working in between, withdraw account 2 or now account 3 whenever the amount is available.

Second is people got jobs that doesn't pay EPF (or company scumbag doesn't pay EPF)
Third and saddest is people got unemployed and cannot find new jobs
