I need to double-check since this can be a fire hazard if i f*ck up.

I am replacing batteries for Contronetix UPS V2000.
My home network and automation - AND CCTV - all out. Not even 2 years since I bought.

(Not considering replacing to a different UPS altogether due to the prohibitive price of purchasing 2000VA units anew.)

I already opened up one of the UPS unit, and retrieved the batteries.
They're 2 units of 12V9AH in serial configuration.

While I am not hung-up on which REPUTABLE brand to replace with (again, they're going to be unsupervised fire hazard), right now I chose GPP-1290 because GP battery spec explicitly mentioned these 2 points below, while other brands did not mention anything similar. Worst, I can see some GP batt sellers explicitly advertised green-coloured "for UPS" and buyers wrote testimonies of intending green-coloured for UPS.
- GP green-coloured batt comes with explicit warning NOT TO BE USED IN UPS.
- GP black-coloured batt comes with explicit mention that it can be used in UPS.

(1) I don't understand what initial current is about (something about charging), BUT,
Original: initial current "less than 2.7A".
Candidate's initial current "less than 3.5A".
a. Is this a value that I should be concerned of, in finding compatible 12V9AH.
b. Is GPP-1290 valid as compatible replacement if considering only this value?

(2) Original: standby use "13.5-13.8V".
Candidate's initial current "13.6-13.8V".
a. Is this a value that I should be concerned of, in finding compatible 12V9AH.
b. Is GPP-1290 valid as compatible replacement if considering only this value?

(3) Original: cycle use "14.4-15.0V".
Candidate's initial current "14.5-14.9V".
a. Is this a value that I should be concerned of, in finding compatible 12V9AH.
b. Is GPP-1290 valid as compatible replacement if considering only this value?

(4) Considering the differences mentioned in (1), (2), and (3),
is GPP-1290 a valid replacement in nett consideration of all 3 values.

IMHO what the sellers said is correct.
All these while UPS are using black colour SLA battery, so these are designed specifically for this purpose.
Now those other colour ones ie green body, may or may not be suitable as unless someone cut open to compare its also warned by sellers not to use for UPS so can assume its of inferior spec to the black ones, hence dont use for UPS or they will not honour your warranty.

As for the specs, there isnt 100% exact match specs from different makers. As long as the Volt & AH are the same, and the others are lebih kurang sama its swappable, of course the one with higher spec is slightly better but wont be perceived by you in real usage.

1) initial current the higher the better. So no problem here.
2) difference of 0.1V no problem.
3) difference of 0.1V no problem.
4) yes can use no problem.

You should be more concern with connecting up the batteries correctly. This is where it gets dangerous.

thank you for your responses.

i'll go for GPP-1290 with 1 UPS, and see
if i can get another mentioned brand for the 2nd UPS.

i took pictures just to be safe against wrong reassembly.
i'm confident i won't that part up.

i am just effing worried that the connector clamps get dislodged on their own months later, after reassembly.

i had jolly difficult time to crimp them back after replacing batteries in smaller 800VA 12V7.2AH UPS last week. Electrical tape around the battery will hold the canbles for that one.

... but taping cables around 2 batteries together in this 2000VA that i cannot split its casing is a different challenge.

again, thank you.

Since the replacement battery is same 12V then it should be okay. Behind number the AH is the capacity of the battery, you can go bigger if you want longer backup time, example this

i already understand about the Volt and the AH.
my concern is about the specific rating differences between the original and the candidate, that I listed as questions above.
concerned should those subtle difference can translate into big fiery and explosive when connected to charging circuit and wall current.
