I got a crack hinge on my DSLite. There is no way to tighten it back unless u change its casing. I recommend SHOCK! Casing.

What should have been done is that, you get a replacement from Nintendo themselves(like in US/JP/EU/AU). I think the last time the JJ Nintendo counter was opened, someone asked, and they said they can't help.

But what you can do, as why_79 has told me, you can get a new shell for about 40USD or something. Almost half the price of a DSL(in states).

My beloved red/black DSL's hinge just cracked! Not just a small hairline fracture, but a full-blown catastrophic failure! Bummed out about it, and so is the missus. Anybody got an experiences with this as well as options?

Anybody got any feedback? My seller just quoted me RM200+ to replace the goddamned case. A bit pissed off with Nintendo for the flaw.

Well, mine has the same problem too. I still can live with it at the moment.

Probably will buy a new one if it goes worse though. Somemore, my left button on the d-pad is getting less and less response. Sigh.

to be honest, my launch week white NDSL cracked one month in. Aside from the slight 'kecacatan visual' it's still works fine. No biggie, IMHO.

there's no way to tighten your hinges, the best fix would be a case replacement. for preventing this scenario to happen you shoud hold the upper portion of your ds while playing or don't open it like a butterfly wing

Hi all, as promised! The two halves used to be loose before I superglued it. It's nice and tight now. I know it looks a little ghetto, but hey, at least I just saved me some money. cool2.gif

Thus, if I were to replace the case, I will get one of the normal ones, so to heck with it, I'm supergluing them babies together again.

I heard from somewhere that protection case help to reduce chances of getting the hinge crack coz it prevents you to open to 180 degree... no harm trying that...
