Hi All,

I previously was with the StayWithUnifi 300Mbps package that I got from the TMPoint that GUARANTEED PERPETUAL 500Mbps speeds since last year.

I recently got told through email, SMS and on Notifications on the Unifi App from TM that my speed got upgraded.

When I checked, I noticed that my speeds are still the same but my package name was only changed to Unifi Pro 500.

There was no speed upgrade being done, only package name change.

I emailed Unifi trying to ask them if it was done wrongly, they guaranteed me many times I got a speed upgrade and none of them want to acknowledge I didn't get just a package name change.

I messaged their Facebook CS staff telling them the same thing, they also said it wasn't only a package name change but I also got a speed upgrade.

I tried to logically tell them I got no speed upgrade but they kept saying I did.

I even showed them screenshots of my previous speeds and current speeds but it seems that they do not care.

I went to TM Point who told me the truth. I wouldn't get any speed upgrade, only my package name would be changed.

I had friends who have the same issues - they were on the same package and also got 500Mbps GUARANTEED PERPETUALLY. They also have got ONLY a package name change but speed remains the same.

I also have friends who have the StayWithUnifi 500Mbps that were on 800Mbps speeds PERPETUALLY. They ALSO got a package name change but speed remains the same.

Anyone else facing the same issues?

Why does TM keep saying we got free speed upgrades?


TLDR.

Before Sep 2024 speed upgrade --> I got 500Mbps
After Sep 2024 speed upgrade --> I got 500Mbps

0 free speed upgrade. Package name only changed.

the speed upgrade was done sometime back, now they are just updating their system to reflect the correct speed.

no speed upgrade this time.

My original package speed was already 500Mbps.

I got a SMS stating my speed was upgraded 2 weeks ago.

My neighbour got upgraded from his Unifi Package speed of 500Mbps to 1Gbps 2 weeks ago as well.

got ppl mentioned its a delayed notification from last year upgrade

I believe there was some posts on the main Unifi thread where they got these SMS as well and asking CS, CS said it was just an issue with their SMS system, and it was just the previous speed upgrade's SMS

Don't hold your breath for the speed upgrade

already got free upgrade earlier than others, should be thankful for that..

No - I don't think you guys understand.

The package came with 500Mbps guaranteed speed. It wasn't a free upgrade.

Even the TM Point staff acknowledged that.

This is a new package which I took. the 500Mbps was the speed I got FROM THE START of the package.

I got lured into the StayWithUnifi 300 @ 500Mbps as it was RM 20 cheaper than my old package. I thought it was worth it to get 500 Mbps for only RM 20 more.

I used to have the 300Mbps package @ RM 99 before I switched to the StayWithUnifi 300 that guaranteed 500Mbps. I thought that I'd be getting a speed upgrade with the recent upgrades my area was getting.

From 2 weeks ago, my neighbours all have 300Mbps upgraded to 500Mbps @ RM 99 after the recent speed upgrade and I am stuck with paying RM 119 before tax for 500Mbps.

As i know SWU 3.0 300mbps is come with free upgrade to 500mbps when apply, TM just recently updating bill to correct info

When was your date of switch?
According to the terms and condition, anything before 5 October 2023 is eligible.

If you do indeed got it before the stated date, I think you can complain to MCMC first.
If it didn't work, bring them to tribunal.

my was 300m has been upgrade to 500m name it as pro upgrade 2months ago ..

but now my contract end ...i choose to switch to maxis ..

Looking at the price you got and what I recall from memory, the person who sold you that SWU misrepresented the information.

That price was for 300mbps. It automatically get upgraded to 500mbps.

Knowing the fact you are paying 99 for 300mbps, the person kept quiet and sold you the package anyway.

So I guess tribunal is the way to go. Your argument should be the person market you a so called 500mbps plan that's actually 300mbps, basically selling you the same shit at an inflated price.

Hello, I wanna ask you guys what's the SWU 3.0 offer now since my 500mbps renamed pro package @ rm159/month (before tax) contract finished. I got call from TM that they offer me 3 months free at same rm159 to get me sambung another 2 years contract, I say call me back 2 days after since I remember they should have SWU 3.0 offers right?

EDIT: tak apa I saw from other threads for the current SWU 4.0 offer now, 100mbps rm79 300mbps rm119 500mbps rm139 all with 6 months free + might need to subscribe 5g unifi rm39 without contract.

Before August I was on 100mbps for rm134sst due to mistake of accepting the free Disney hotstar.

I switched to SWU 4.0 extra. 300mbps for RM 119 at the TM point in late Aug. Had to sign up a rm39 mobile line too for three months.

So if you pay rm119 for 300mbps. You are same as me. Despite being promised the 500mbps.

Also briefly got FSU when the DNS hijack was implemented. To 500/100mbps. But always throttle to 5mbps during 6pm to 12am...the shit connections.
