for newborn, go for doona. multi function stroller that can work as baby car seat as well. Suitable up to 1 years old. There's still price if u wanted to sell it as pre-love.

Don’t spend much on strollers. They outgrow them very fast especially when they start walking

I once popped into Cash Converters in Sunway Mentari and saw strollers there...looked to be expensive and in rather good condition, but I was hoping to find a decent electric guitar.

Resist the urge to get a big one. You'll be using the smaller foldable stroller far more often (airport, shopping mall etc). The big ones may look nice but you're going to have fun squeezing in lifts.

stroller never have to check in.

you drop them off at the boarding gate and you will pick it up at the arrival gate.

for that budget i recommend mama & papas.

Been giving this advice 'any decent looking stroller RM 200 also ok' but no one listening but I'm still telling, any stroller normal brand will do.

A good one is worth it. Especially if wife can handle by herself (fold/unfold and store)

There is also a second hand market. You can find good deals there or sell your one once your kid out grow them

4K ceiling price memang mengarut though. Can get good ones for less than that

forgot which one, the maxi cossy, one of the version.

why?

1. Family planning - it will be valuable if you get a solid sturdy brand. can tahan lama. mine 10 years. and till dis date still good and i am still using it for my 5 yold.

2. a good stroller, should be travel-easy ones. i got one that i can carry around during my trips with the family.

3. a good stroller, can be a control point as well. even for kids a bit older than 5 years old. sit and lock your kids, give them gadgets, books, toys, but they will be there on the stroller, reducing headaches 80%.

4. a good stroller can also become a trolley for all kids stuff.

5. its helps you to jog as well with a stroller thumbup.gif

back then when I got it (maybe around 3k+), i always complained to my wife, about it not being worth it la whatever la, but now I lose dy. To this date, the strollers help me in many situations and i am glad that i stick with my waifu plan.

and that's why i tell you don't need it.. mimosa is lighter, as sturdy, and in fact it's more comfy for my girl. Chico well it's good and mine was those 3-in-1 set but then i think they never consider the weather conditions here in malaysia. my daughter will choose not too seat on it for too long cause of the seat material will just make it unpleasant for the toddler.

full mesh, ventilated is really pretty darn important. Just check out Mimosa la you won't go wrong with it.

McLaren. Used it for my 2 kids. Easi to fold, put in car, no need check-in at airport since it folds flat, light to carry and durable cos better quality than the Italians or Japs. Bought in 2010, still look good and new after washing fabric (easily removable). Also very maneuverable, can evade the bollocks at escalators without folding. Wun regret if buy. Not selling mine even though my kids are teens.

Bugaboo dragonfly.

But in the end I got myself the new hamilton T1. No too heavy, can flip front and back just by turning, I always use it to walk around garden and roadside. So far so good

I don't know about the "looks expensive" part la, but everything else pretty much fit what my wife was looking for in a stroller as well. For her, facing the baby was important and also light with one handed open/close

So we got a stroller from combi. Was probably the previous model of this: https://shopee.com.my/Combi-Baby-Sugocal-%C...3a-0921fa980753

Have it for 6 years already, used by all 3 kids. Even now when go out, its used as a portable storage and also to wheel whichever kid is tired from walking.

My recommendation is just go try a few yourself, see how it feels for you when pushing, turning, etc. Everyone got different requirements and feel for what is safe/durable.

Resist the urge to get a big one. You'll be using the smaller  foldable stroller far more often (airport, shopping mall etc). The big ones may look nice but you're going to have fun squeezing in lifts.
*
speaking based on experience, you wont have chance to squeeze into lifts, carry the baby and use escalator is faster than to expect civic minded people

So the usual sop is take out baby, fold stroller then carry both onto escalators? 8kg consider heavy or not to do this?

Mall/cafe hopping
No need check-in stroller
2 way facing preferable
Not too heavy
Can use to stroll in gardens
Must be branded and look expensive to show status

What is 2 way facing?

Look expensive? I don't see the necessity of that one.

Baby stroller is more customized. Remember, if you buy one very expensive one, once your baby become bigger toddler, you have no use for this one, but to keep it in storage until your next baby comes.

Some baby strollers esp the ones that you can detach the baby carrier from the wheel carriage, are very large. Takes up space in your store room.

i got 3 stroller now.

1st - a big stroller, new born can lay down flat and sleep. use this a few times going to hospital. use at home too to monitor baby sleeping. this is a gift from friend, so cost me RM0. this stroller is so big, that it barely fit my rear trunk and no other bag/item can be put there alongside it.

2nd - a small stroller, sit position only, that can easily be folded and store in car rear legroom. use this stroller inside mall, theme park, when baby does not sleep.

3rd - my wife bought a mid size stroller, the only that got storage below and cover above. foldable into medium size, hard to put into car legroom. usually put in rear trunk. this stroller baby can sleep and sit.

nowadays, only bring the 3rd stroller whenever we go out.

that kind of stroller won't last long.

once your kid outgrows the stroller you have to change.

then this one you have to keep in storage until the next baby.

My 2 kids used a Graco 3 piece set.

The stroller, the newborn cradle/basket and the seat base for car. Very convenient for newborn, because can just clip the cradle/basket to the car set base and the stroller without moving the baby. The stroller had big wheels that rolls over uneven ground very easily. The stroller itself, can be reclined flat and a 2 year old can still lie down. The basket is for 6-12mths.

Can consider similar design from other manufacturers.

I bought mine overseas so its cheap. Brought back on flight tax free as we were travelling. Works out to be about 800rm only. its 1500 here. The only downside is, the stroller is bulky and doesn't fold very small, so it wont fit small cars.

Gone though 2 kids. then passed to my brother's. still in serviceable condition. Well worth the money.

This one.

Just under RM 1K.

Can sleep, sit or stand oso.

On a personal note, Same as @jaycee1, we went for the Graco. Bought from Mothercare, UK, during Xmas sale. It’s equivalent to the Chico in MYS but people here reckon it’s high keras one 🙄. Came with the full works like toe cosy which no need niaaa in this weather.

Baby so comfortable he's just sleeping inside stroller. Hands also free coz can put many things under the stroller.

Necroed thread. Anyhow, its totally dependent on how your baby is. In my case, my son preferred for me to carry him all the way, so over the whole year he spent hanging on my arms til I developed shoulder stiffness.

Bought a RM2k COMBI stroller, which is known for its comfort yada yada... only can put him in when he's asleep... other than that he totally hates sitting in the stroller. Bought a RM50 cheapass stroller, he ok pulak but max also 10 minutes and he start to ask to be carried. Now the COMBI is in the store collecting dust. If there are options, go for those branded preloved strollers as its not necessarily a needed investment - at least on my part.

Now over 2 years old, he is okay with sitting in any stroller (cheap or not) but will insist of going down to chase animals that his eyes managed to spot. After that, after some moment of walking - either in stroller or be carried again.

Nevertheless I'd say better carry your kid while you can, else you will miss the moment when he/she was dependent on you for warmth and comfort.

Joie foldable is quite good. Brought it overseas as well. However, they much prefer to be carried so switched to those carriers. Think after they got older and couldn't be carried anymore, they decided they wanted to be pushed on the stroller again.

dont waste money buying a new stroller. the amount of time you will use it is limited.
I bought a Maclaren Techno XT for about rm1.7k before. Didnt use it much at all. but.... there are times when stroller is a must like when you go to theme parks or travelling for whole day with a small baby.
so best to buy 2nd hand stroller.

anyway, im selling my maclaren techno XT for rm550 if anyone is interested. condition 9/10. im in JB.
