Make your own mix with oat(rolled oat), prestige, vegie powder, high protein cereal & grind into powder form & mix with water for them. Else just order the survivor or staple powder from PetShack.

Hahahaha... They run fast, so you must act fast to catch them. But once you're familiar with them, you'll know their running style. By that time, you don't feel they run fast & you need to act fast.

Gerbils don't tolerate good with too much of fresh food. They can easily get diarrhea if they eat too much of fruits, vegies & so on.

errmm... pumping them to chubby fellas need a lot of nutrition (means your pocket will burn holes as well). Don't give too much of kuaci, not good.

Don't worry that. They are like this. Grab food run to corner to eat.. Scare their food being curi by others.

Hahahaha.. The tamest boy I got who can sit still in my hand also run from me when my hand in. They are bunch of curious fellas that cannot stay still.

You must give all inside the prestige but not only the kuaci. Try the dry smoothies as what jtl told. It's a good source of nutrition. Make up of dehydrated fruits & vegie & extra vitamin. So you just need to mix with water to give them not scare of causing diarrhea to them.

If you have blender & actually you're feeding them the dry smoothies, you can actually blend some kibbles & britter bunny & mix into the dry smoothies. They cannot choose what to eat, so everything in. A lil' britter bunny helps them to absorb more nutrition but cannot too much.

Yes... You can blend like that to mix it. I do that cause most of my boys cannot eat hard food anymore due to teeth overgrown & upper teeth are no longer there. Mix is basically what they are eating now. You can even blend rolled oat, some prestige, kibbles, add in vegie powder, wombaroo powder & so to mix for them.

*** For those who want to get the nutri smoothies on the go, you need to order it. There is no ready stock since it requires few days to dehydrate the material.

Reason might be they don't chew the toy or upper teeth broken & having gap in between for the bottom teeth to grow. Chew toy like wooden bark, toilet rolls are given to them yet they still had that problem. Whole tank is having the same problem which caused headache to me. So is better if you see your gerbil(s) lose weight all of the sudden, please do check on their teeth.

Yes. overgrown means too long. Normally it will be the bottom teeth to over grow. Not only that no chew toy for them, it may be upper teeth broken & causing the bottom over grown as well.

Hahaha.. I never use bowl for my boys. They don't eat from bowl but from bedding. Bowl for them is just for storing bedding =.="'

I just dump the food on the bedding & they will eat themselves even the mix i make for them.

1.2 ft is better but you cannot put too much of toys in.

If you look clearly 1ft & 1.2ft actually is quite different. I had seen both 1ft & 1.2ft. 1ft is only used as a carrier. Go for 1.5ft if you can. That two sizes of tank normally are used as a carrier.

Hahahha.. Joan is afraid of gerbils. You lepas all of them out will have only 2 ending: either you & your gerbils being sack out from PS or Joan runs out.

She is afraid of mongolian gerbils but not fat tail. Guess mongolian looks like rat. lolx

You can put in mug,cup,toilet rolls,shredded paper as long is not plastic or poisonous items.

Wheel minimum must be 8" cox they have backbone, small wheel will hurt their backbone. In fact you need to get those metal type cox they will chew the wheel & plastic not good.

They sleep on & off. You can disturb them, no problem at all. Just bang the tank if you like. They are durable not chicky like hamster. I always do that to my boys. Later on once they get use to it. You bang also they don't wake up.

Most parents are like this. My mum has warned me for taking in pets. Probably they think that once you're not free, they have to take care of it.
