Yes, u can dab Savlon Antiseptic abit using cotton bud. Before hand, dab the bud with some clean water to clean the area, then only apply antiseptic.. If the gerbil has some sort of infection, better seperate from the cage into a tank. Coz we wont be sure.

U can always use LC-Vit directly onto pets, such as gerbils, i did do that before, when mine are in serious injuries, no appetite.
The best is to the VET asap. Hope she recovers k. Dont worry. Calm down k. |

sometimes clan to clan works, coz the less dominant ones will get along well, and this helps alot throughout the introductory period.. the less dominant get well and make things easier for the dominant ones..
this may be just my luck.. |

holy : u swap every few hours, let's say, adult in small cage and juvenile outside, then SWAP to become adult outside and juvenile inside.. force them to smell each other smell..
from my experience, almost instantly u will have an idea whether the gerbils can or cannot be grouped together.. i have used SWAP methods on TANK and TANK (two 2feet tank) and CAGE in TANK (metal cage in tank).. both works fine for me.. the idea is that when u wana do these methods, u shud clean all the stuffs.. making no more smell of the adults.. so they wont be possessive towards their territory.. if u have cleaned all, i used to use germisep to disinfect and it does removes all smell at once, then they have no more territory to be protective and aggresive.. zoe : i letgo mine when i have to move out from ukm.. the most proud time for me was when i succesfully yield spotted black, spotted agouti, spotted nutmeg.. there are also some argente, dark eye honey (deh), red eyed honey (reh), lilac, dove.. so happy.. for bout 6 months i get to have them.. this was the result of going here n there to get colourful genes and ventures into breeding.. my first gerbils are agouti.. the male super tame, female super cute and she adopts babies from others like her own.. so surprise! |

Just use the kitchen towel rolls, the long ones, and cut some ladder-like at one end. And put wherever u like.. I like to put a bunch of different lengths and sizes at a corner, then only pour the bedding, making it like a tunnelfeel for them..

QUOTE(terces @ Mar 2 2011, 06:02 AM) I bought mine already heeee. They look very young from the pictures.. Adults dont look like that.. They look more like bullet shape when they r young, compared to a normal mouse-look when adult..They are cute, but hard to see if they are male and female cos still too young. But the shop said is male n female. The color i got is fine yellow(dont know wht u guys called, honey?) and a nutmeg/agouti. Anyway i love the nutmeg/agouti more cos he is more tamed and not as naughty as the yellow one. The yellow one is more proactive. The 1st day i bring them back, i straight away trained them to feel secure with my hands by feeding them food on my hands. Now even i dont have foods, they'll climb to my hands whenever my hand was inside the aquarium. Wanna ask. Sometimes they lick the aquarium, and the nutmeg/agouti even keep licking my hands non stop on 1st day. Is this bcos they want water? They sometimes(but the yellow gerbil is most of the time) trying to jump or searching for way out from the aquarium. They keep jumping to aquarium trying to get out. Is this means they dont like the current home(in aquarium)? Or is their normal behavior? Lastly, a pic of them Chinchila & Chinchiba ![]() They are master escapers, be sure to cover the top of your enclosure with wire mesh.. Hang a water bottle for them.. |

Inbreeding gerbils will have deformed or crooked tails, do pay attention on this.
The cross breed ones are straight tails! =) |
