See title.

Looking to change tires for a 250cc bike, Suzzuki Gixxer 250 Naked. Was planning to use Corsa Cross S, but was told by a shop that it will barely fit into the rear wheel well. The shop recommended the Extramaxx, but I've read that the wet grip is kinda shit, and even Corsa themselves didn't rate the S123 highly for wet grip. So, do I:

1. Just try and stuff the 140/80 Cross S into the bike, or

2. Get one of the two tires I named up there

Does anyone have any reviews of these three tires?

Edit: Stock tire is 150/60-17.

Why not try corsa sports rain. Definitely very good in wet dry road. But it's soft compound that lasted for around 10k kms for my usage.

I would, but they don't have the size for the rear tire, the largest they have is like 120/70, which is the one I used for my FZ. My biggest issue is with the rear tire btw, front tire is whatever, that can be managed.

i use extramaxx on my MT-15 and the tire perform well in wet, i dont feel slippery during rain even on thick white paint..

Yeah, that's why I plan to use the 140/80 Cross S, but the stock tires being 150/60, might not fit too well into the wheel well, hence the question in the post.

Thank you brother. I had a bit of fear with Maxxis tires because they slipped with my old Jaguh pretty often, so I am not confident with them really.

I'm using sport rain front and S123 for rear of my D400. So far so good.

Bad idea.

The cross S is a much taller tyre. Assuming you might be able to fit the tyre, the geometry changes might not be a good thing.

I'm currently running S123 in 150/60 on my Dominar. Wont say its good in the wet due to the harder compound but it does last long. I pair it with a Sport Rain for the front. For daily should be ok. Previously I ran with 2 sets of 160/60 Zeneos ZN33s light ADV tyres paired with Corsa S front. But no one stocks them now. There were pretty decent and last for 15k km.

The cross S tends to wear unevenly after half way down though.

If you are looking for sportier tyres, you might fit 160/60. But with 26hp, might be a bit overkill. 160/60 is easier to find as its a standard size for many middle weight sportbikes like the ninja 650 and z650

No experience with the extramaxx. But the supermaxx ST is OE tyre on my 800NK.

Fz? Mine is v2 bought used. I lurk around for info and im guessing taking a smaller size of cross S since most review says it's bigger in actual.

I might be wrong though cos im just surveying as of this stage.

I see. Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind when I make my decision. I'm using Sport Rains on my FZ too, but since the Gixxer is bigger stock, I'm looking for a decently cheap tire with good wet grip for the rainy days. I like the SRs, but they don't have sizes for my Gixxer and that's quite disappointing.

I see, that's quite worrying.

It s common for seminknobly or knobbly tires to get issues with uneven wear.

What about Pirelli Rosso 3 or Michellin Pilot Street 2 ?
Definitely have 150/60 - 17 size and you cant go wrong with both dry and wet use.

Reviews of the Rosso 3 overall says that it had a low lifespan, so that's quite ass, especially since it's costly, though still affordable. PS2, read a bunch of reviews saying that wet grip sucked ballsacks, so nah. I did use PS2 before on my FZ, but a bit more worried for a bigger bike.
